Can anyone honestly say that acne of any severity or persistence doesn't hold them back from something?
For me, it holds me back from being friendly at times.
Although there's a definite positive too. I think people see me as more approachable and understand why I'm not social at times. Face full o' scars will do that.

Keeps me from being confident, from talking to people. it makes me extremely embarrassed and feel unworthy.

I hate being in public because I know that people will notice my skin.
I don't like going out with friends as much.
I don't even like going to see my boyfriend as often, even though I know he won't judge me.
I feel ugly.
I don't smile anymore.

When I was younger and my acne problem was even worse, I couldn't even look in the mirror at myself, I always wore my hair down so that the bumps weren't as apparent, I hated having my grandmother talk to me about my skin.

Ugh... eusa_doh.gif

But things will get better. They always do.

Acne keeps me away from some many things but like most of you, social interactions with others, it is a night mare for me, I rarely pay attention when someone is talking to me because I am so worried that they are staring at my acne, I usually wears my hair loose to cover my face, even if my hair is greasy, it is disgusting, however I rather cover my face.

I avoid as much as possible leaving my house unless if I have to. Currently, I have no friends because I rarely let anyone get close to me, I am so self-conscious about my acne. Acne really keeps me from just being a normal person, I am constantly hiding from others. And that is an awful way to live your life. cry.gif

I'm EyesLikeMine, the boys say they want girls with eyes like hers,
My eyes shine like diamonds, they match my winter furs,
Yeah I shine bright, rarer than the furthest star,
When the boys come my way, they say those were the prettiest eyes I ever saw!

It will get better! I know it might not help hearing that from other people (especially a stranger), but trust me, it will get better. Have you started the regimen? If you have, give it some time. It may take a while to clear up completely but just keep in mind that once you're clear, it'll stay that way as long as you keep up whatever your method is. Just look forward to clear skin and how confident you'll be.

Working out in a tank top though I know the people at the gym won't be so close to where they can see every sweating pore on my body ninja.gif and I don't know if it's acne but when I talk to most people I can't form my sentences right! I get so nervous and excited and I try to say 4 things at one time it's terrible ghost.gif
