I'm one week post-surgery of a revision open rhinoplasty (the kind where you get a tiny scar between your nostrils).
I was prescribed low dose accutane (10 mg /day) long time ago for my mild/moderate acne, but haven't taken it yet because I was waiting for my surgery. Now that I've done the surgery, how long is a reasonable time to wait? My surgeon wasn't sure when I asked him, he said he'd look into it. Any ideas please?? I'm desperate to start really soon but I don't wanna risk it just yet.....

When I was 13 people were telling me that I'll grow out of it when I'm around 18. My acne was worse back then but at least I had the hope that in a few years my worst nightmare would be gone. Then when I became 18 people were telling me to give it a a couple of years more. Nope! Still had acne. Then I've read that the other time-point is around 25. Passed that, too. I've just turned 27 now and the other time-point I've heard is around 30 years of age. After that they say you might have acne for life! Is that true?? My mom had it, too, from 17 to 27. But I've had it much worse than her. So, if I reach 30 and still have acne would the only solution be accutane?

I've decided to take a break for a while and stop Yasmin for a few days after taking it non-stop for many months to avoid getting a period. And all hell broke loose! A couple of days before my period I just thought I was dying, I was getting tension headaches, migraines, eye strain, extreme fatigue and lethargy. Not to mention a massive acne breakout! If that wan't enough I decided to stop Spiro at the same time, but I don't think my symptoms were due to that... Anyways, all I wanted to do was lie down and sleep -or die! The horrible feelings also continued after my period finished. So I gave up and decided to go back on the pill yesterday again and I'm feeling kinda better today.

I was wondering if that means I'm oestrogen deficient or something? Because it's not the first time this has happened during my period 7-day pill-free interval. Actually that's the main reason I decided to skip my periods for the last few years, with only a few breaks in between. Is there something I can do to avoid these horrible feelings? I'm 95% sure they're hormone-related.

I'm asking because I've noticed that since I started taking spiro (50-75mg) about a week ago I get increased eye-strain as well as dry eyes leading to headaches. I'm already prone to chronic tension headaches and I don't want to get any more... confused.gif I also have foggy head and get sleepy and tired a bit more easily. Do you think I'm taking too much? Should I lower the dose to 25mg for a few weeks until I adjust?? confused.gif I don't want to stop taking spiro as it seems to be working so far! I only got one spot since I started it. Unless the breakout happens at some later point it seems very promising so far...except the side effects...

I'm asking because I've been taking Yasmin for about 8 months or so and I still get mild but persistent acne (even though I have less frequent breakouts compared to before). Isn't Yasmin supposed to have a similar ingredient equivalent to 25 mg or so of Spiro?? Does this mean Spiro won't work very well with me or will it depend on the dose? I'm planning to start with 25 mg Spiro soon, but I was wondering if I should go higher...??
