Hey everyone.

I bought an enLux lamp a few weeks ago, and it got here 3 days ago (at which point I immediately started using it). I'm starting this log a bit late, but I'll continue it for about a month at which point I'll decide if it worked for me or not, and hence return it or keep it for further use.

A bit of background: I'm 19, Caucasian, and a vegetarian (in case that changes anything).
I've tried:
- Proactive for about 2 years
- Exposed for about 2 months
- Dan's Regime for 6 months
- Erythromycin (Antibiotic): 3 months
- Tetracycline (Antibiotic): Used it twice, 3 months each for a total of 6 months.
- Minocycline (Antibiotic): About 2 months
- Accutane: Used it twice, about 6 months each time.

So you can call this yet another desperate attempt.

DAY 1-3

I used it for 1 minute intervals straight on and then on both sides like they recommended. I haven't seen any improvement, although it's been to early to really tell. The lamp is pretty bright and you really wouldn't want to stare directly at it. It's best to use the eye protection included. I'm thinking I'll increase gradually up to the recommended 5minutes over the next week and a half.

Just a quick question,

Are the bottles of cleanser/treatment/moisturizer supposed to be completely full, or is there supposed to be ~an inch not there. Like it was filled up to the point at the bottom of the bottle neck, but no further.

Just curious smile.gif

Thanks

I'm hoping this is the right section to post this in.

So I'm curious about peoples opinions and experiences about the effects of alcohol and smoking on acne. (I've heard arguments from both sides).

Of course it would never be as simple as alcohol yields acne, since I'm sure some types trigger it a lot worse than others. Similar with smoking. So once you answer feel free to elaborate further

This is by no means scientific. It is purely our of curiosity. If you know any studies which indicate certain triggers related to this, feel free to post it. Or just post your experiences.

So here's the story:

I began with moderate/severe acne, and took Accutane prescribed by a dermatologist, and used the right amount for the right period of time, until i was completly clear. It was pretty awesome, my fight with acne was over, right?

Wrong, I remained clear for the summer (~3months), and then it came back very mildly, and eventually became moderate acne (not as severe, but still quite bad). So, I was told i was the 2% of the population who needed to do it a second time for it to work in the long term (and to not need it again). So i took another run with it, for the same period of time, the same dosage, and voila I was clear again. It must be over now right, apparently everyone is clear after accutane twice, right?

Wrong, I again, remained clear for the summer, and yet again, it came back mildly, and it became mild/moderate acne. Not as bad as before, but still there. It's been a year and a half since I've been off the stuff, and I can't go for a third time.

In the years before accutane, and after I have used everything (all cleaning systems, detox systems, laser treatment, etc, etc).

So now to those who are thinking about using it, just keep in mind it can fail like anything else, and short term affects may not last in the long term, even if the doctors assure you that acne never comes back after 2 trials of the stuff. I'm not saying don't use it, but I'm saying dont get your hopes up.
