  1. I understand you don't want to stop your treatment, however you need to let your derm know. Depression is nothing to mess with while on Accutane. Even Roche states that it may or may not go away once you have stopped. Besides Accutane is not the cure all and many have had their acne come back. Please get help!
  2. Feet and heel pain?

Accutane is known to cause bone, tendon, muscle and joint problems. It's known to dry up the fluid of the joints, bones etc. in some. I had feet problems, Achilles etc. I did physical therapy, Hyaluronic Acid, Vit D and a very clean diet. It took a long long time. It is not uncommon, I heard of people who had problems and it doesn't surprise me that your derm said that. As for the dark circles, Accutane can thin the skin. Not sure on your dose, length of time or severity of acne, but you may need to stop. I mean the thing is I can't promise your foot issue will go away, or continuing Accutane that your acne will go away forever. Good Luck!
  3. I would definitely call your derm first thing tomorrow and it might be good to see a eye doctor to have it checked. Not to scare you, but it is documented that Accutane can cause intracranial pressure, eye problems etc. For some it doesn't matter dose or length, if Accutane doesn't agree with you it just doesn't. To be careful better safe then sorry. Hopefully it will go away since you plan on stopping, but if it doesn't definitely get checked when you get back - Good Luck
  4. I found it interesting your TSH is .75 which here in the U.S. the standard from the American College of Endo would consider you either hyper or borderline hyper thyroid. There standard for a normal thyroid is between 2.0-3.0. However, labs are not mandated to update their values here. Go figure. It wouldn't surprise me though I can't remember all your symptoms if this might be the reason too for high Estrogen, Low T and a few other issues. I developed Graves/Hyper shortly after my course. My values were in the .52 and I was recently at .75 and they did some adjustments.
  5. Bumps on lips? (On accutane)

I know that Accutane can cause cheletitis of the lips, I am not sure if that is why the bumps are there. I would definitely call your doctor and let them know. especially in case it may be a allergic reaction???
  6. I am not sure if your pain has subsided or not, but it is listed in the rx information of Accutane that it can cause chest pain. There have been reports of people experiencing rib pain also, which may be due to the fact Accutane can effect the bones, joints, muscles etc. You said your heart feels weird....is it heart rate? Some have experienced heart burn or developed reflux from taking Accutane, make sure you are not dehydrated and I would definitely if it does not get better call back your doctor. I am not sure of your dosage, but it may be to high or Accutane has not agreed with you. Good Luck!
  7. if it continues, I would suggest getting some lab work to check and see if you have some hormones that were effected, thyroid and possible vitamin deficiency. Is it just your eyelashes or eyebrows and hair?
  8. Accutane Head Pressure

I would say to also try and see a eye doctor as they will be able to see if there is inflammation of pressure of the eyes. Which can be found in intracranial pressure or pseudo tumor cerebri. Which can be found in some to happen in people who take Accutane. I can't say if your cold, allergies or severe dehydration were brought on so I would definitely get it checked by both specialist. Accutane is also known to lower the immune system in some. Good Luck
  9. I am not sure if your from the U.S. or Canada, but it states in the information with your prescription and the I pledge or information you sign that Progesterone only birth control will interact with Accutane and Accutane may lessen the birth control effect. It also states that while being on Accutane you are to be on two forms of bc or condoms etc.... So No it is not wrong.
  10. Un-believable side effects for accutane

I don't think Chico is purposely ignoring you, he just may not be on. I am not sure if your male or female, but if MPB runs in the family it will speed up the process. Some suffer from TE and it can be chronic, It also can cause Alopecia. I suggest too if you haven't had certain labs done for like Iron, Vit B, D, etc then do so and I would have your thyroid and hormones checked. What have you done so far as you say you spent 30k on tests???? Also for the muscle and joint pain, try H.A. Vit D, yoga, stretching and search Sheefa. Here is a old link for hair loss and you can do a search on the board for more recent. Hope this helps good luck /topic/152239-the-answers-i-got-from-my-doctor-about-hair-loss/?page=1&do=embed">
  11. Blood in pee

I am not sure how old you are or if your in the U.S., but blood in the pee is not good! I would go to the emergency room or a urgent care if you are unable to access your doctor's office. Then after the Holiday let them know if you have stopped Accutane and your issue. I would stop Accutane and to be honest you say your on your last week, Roche themselves states the drug continues to work even after stopping. Good Luck
  12. Post Accutane and Periods

Here in the U.S. it is listed is a possible side effect under Reproductive System abnormal menses. So it is a possibility and the thing is abnormal menses is kind of vague, it can mean a lot of things. You can do a search on here or google infertility. I have read some stories of women who felt it caused their infertility. Accutane is usually for severe acne, if you acne is not severe or possibly hormonal I would suggest looking into other options. Good Luck!
  13. Accutane/tattoos

Depends if your tattoo will heal before you start Accutane. The thing is that Accutane can sometimes thin out the skin and can cause a delay in healing whether it be a wound, infection etc. Good Luck
  14. You know I am not really sure, there are some inquires when you do a search or google Accutane and grey hairs from others in the past. I do know that some who had straight hair ended up with curly hair or had hair loss! I doubt that your doctor would really know! If you acne isn't that bad, you might want to consider trying other things good luck
  15. Dry lips a year later?

I would read through this thread and see if any of the suggestions you may not have tried yet may help./topic/270650-accutane-users-amazing-cure-for-cracked-and-chapped-lips/?do=embed">I would also check with your general doctor if things don't improve. Accutane can sometimes cause severe cheilitis! Hope this helps and good luck
  16. Did accutane really stunt my growth?

I am no doctor, but was married to one. I posted to you the direct information that is stated in side effects by the Roche themselves the Pharma company. There's many studies regarding this. Usually high dose or long term. Even if you took for 10mg off and on for 2yrs it could of had effect, but again without the x-ray once your course finished there really is no definite answer. Some have taken 20mg for 4 months and had hair loss that was permanent, everybody reacts differently https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9689293 It has been known for years that Accutane effects the bones in many different ways.
  17. Red Face ALL THE TIME

First I would say that the clean and clear night face cleanser may be to harsh if you are suffering from any type of Rosacea , burning etc. 2nd have you been to a doctor to see if you got Accutane induced Rosacea? Have you had any lab work to check for deficiencies? Please do look on this board/thread and also look at the mino/Accutane induced rosacea thread and you will see what others have done.
  18. Accutane is known to effect the joints and bone in some people. Some have had their pain subside after Accutane and some have not. If you already have issues, then it is possible that Accutane will exuberate these problems, in which may or may not get worse. Good Luck • bone and muscle problems. Accutane may affect bones, muscles, and ligaments and cause pain in your joints or muscles. Tell your doctor if you plan hard physical activity during treatment with Accutane. Tell your doctor if you get: • back pain • joint pain • broken bone. Tell all healthcare providers that you take Accutane if you break a bone. Stop Accutane and call your doctor right away if you have muscle weakness. Muscle weakness with or without pain can be a sign of serious muscle damage. Accutane may stop long bone growth in teenagers who are still growing
  19. Did accutane really stunt my growth?

Accutane is known to cause epiphyseal closure and other bone problems. Even as far back as when the drug first rolled on to the market. To actually know whether or not Accutane stunted your growth you would've had to have an x-ray to see if your plate closed or not, whether that is a before and after or after your course. I personally suffered bone loss and in return loss of height! • bone and muscle problems. Accutane may stop long bone growth in teenagers who are still growing This is from Roche themselves!
  20. Just a question and I somewhat believe that Accutane accelerates premature aging....however, I am not sure if the telomeres test is useful unless you would have had it before Accutane to compare after taking Accutane. Just a thought???? Or is it more a test that they do based on your age and where your telomeres should be?
  21. Tretinoin - Brain fog is like being forgetful, loss of concentration and mental clarity. HSTL - first how are your eyes and do you still have a lot of dryness? How long have you been off Accutane? As for a short period of time or lower dose, I tend to believe that if Accutane doesn't agree with you and your body, it's not going to agree no matter dose or length. You can also google brain fog and Accutane or do a search on the board and find others who suffered this and possibly what helped them. Now as for the brain fog, if you have stopped taking Accutane, then I know you can try some things such as B vitamins, Vit D, Magnesium, meditation, clean diet, proper and good sleep, exercise and sometimes if it still persists neuro feedback, also make sure you are staying away from alcohol. I hope this helps and good luck!
  22. Severe Anxiety caused by Accutane

I am so sorry to hear you are suffering with the anxiety. I would give the 5-HTP a chance as a week is not enough, though I can relate you probably want a quick solution as anxiety can be horrible. I would also continue with a clean diet, exercise, being around those who's company you enjoy. Though I don't suffer from permanent anxiety, when I am stressed or have bouts of anxiety I have found mindful meditation and EFT tapping (check out Nick Ortner) have helped. Also, I have noticed you mentioned B6 which is good to take and also maybe some b12. I do know that some who developed anxiety after taking Accutane have had some success with L-tryptophan, which can also help with sleep if your having problems there. I would also try to stay from any high retinol rich foods. You can also maybe connect with a few in the long term suffer thread who might suffered from the same. I hope this helps, good luck and hang in there
  23. As for Tinnitus being common or rare, you will get varied answers on that. I do know it has been a known side effect for a long time, you can google or do a search on this board and see similar posts regarding tinnitus and Accutane dating as far back as 2003. Now I have always felt that it doesn't matter dosage or how long you been on Accutane in regards to side effects, ( though lower dose obviously less chance) If Accutane doesn't agree with you, it just doesn't agree with you. The fact that the first time you stopped and it cleared up and now starting a even lower dose and it's back make it somewhat obvious that Accutane is probably the culprit. Now if you continue Accutane, it is hard to say whether you will end up with permanent damage to hearing or constant tinnitus. I am not sure if your acne is mild, persistent mild etc...., but I would call your derm back and let them know. Now this is the information in the U.S. that is enclosed with Accutane Hearing Impairment: Impaired hearing has been reported in patients taking Accutane; in some cases, the hearing impairment has been reported to persist after therapy has been discontinued. Mechanism(s) and causality for this event have not been established. Patients who experience tinnitus or hearing impairment should discontinue Accutane treatment and be referred for specialized care for further evaluation (see ADVERSE REACTIONS: Special Senses). I hope this helps and good luck
  24. Outside of the dry eyes from Accutane, you got rosacea double. I hope you look at some of the links I posted for you. I would also look at some of Lamarr1986 posts as he had the same problems. I wish I had a cure all answer for you, but I don't. I myself suffer from dry eyes and I have sjrogren's type and I produce no tears! I would also stick with a clean diet, It will help, but not cure. The other question is what type of Rosacea do you have? I believe there are different treatments depending on the type! Good Luck
  25. I suggest anyone with hair loss from Accutane see someone to get a dx...Accutane can cause hair loss in many ways. TE is most common, which in some goes in cycles, If you are a male and have a hx of mpb in your family it will speed up the process. There are many reports along with TE....Alopecia and if any like myself who suffer from autoimmune i.e. graves and type 1 diabetes or iron, vit d deficiency then there it is battle, but some hope.... Good Luck chicanery
