Is anyone following Romeo's regimen? I'm trying to but it's really hard to get all that olive oil in per day. I try to take:

-2 tsp liquid cod liver oil (am & pm)
    -1/4 cup peanuts
-3 tbsp. olive oil (spread out through the day w/meals)

it's tough. can't really tell if anything's working . breakouts seem to be somewhat reduced if i remember to take everything though.

i've heard the same thing. I think our topic starter (ndromeo) was one of the first to point out the research about it. I would advise taking your doses at separate times during the day (like a few hours apart) if you decide to stick with fish oil & acv. otherwise just do one or the other.

I just wanted to check back in with my experience with green smoothies. I made them faithfully for 6 1/2 weeks and only missed maybe 2 days out of the whole time. Basically it really didn't seem like i had any improvement in my skin. i think the fish oil i was taking was keeping my breakouts down. I was still breaking out here and there though so it didnt seem to me that green smoothies were going to be my cure just don't have the heart to continue making them, i think i would have seen some improvement by now if it was going to work. i'm now trying other dietary experiments b/c i still think my acne can be cured with food & supplements.

For anyone still browsing this topic, I just wanted to make sure I got this right:

-need 3 teaspoons liquid cod liver oil (omega 3)
-need 2 servings peanuts (omega 6)---by the way what constitutes 2 servings?
-need 3-5 tbsp olive oil? --i've gone back through the posts and not gotten a sure answer on how many tablespoons i need (omega 9)
    -need 500 mg vitamin c
    -need 50-100mg zinc

Have I got it right for the most part? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the tips! Yea it's been fun experimenting. I've tried a lot of fruits so far including oranges, apples, pears, bananas, strawberries, mixed frozen berries, frozen peaches, frozen mangoes, and a mixed bag of frozen melons/cantaloupe/grapes/peaches. so far i think my favorite mixtures are the ones with berries and bananas. they seem to be the yummiest. the peaches are good too.

won won, that's great to hear you're having success! as far as the red spots i recommend not worrying about them, only time really will heal them if you ask me. they can take several months to heal but as long as you're not breaking out anymore they should heal up pretty quickly. i've been taking fish oil (3g daily) and i think that helps speed up skin healing a bit. my face certainly has a nice glow to it and skin feels smoother.

I'm starting this up again and this time sticking to it!! Previously I had tried with yogurt and juice in my smoothies and wasn't seeing results so I nixed those two. Made a pretty decent one last night:

    1 banana
handful of cranberries (nice flavor actually)
    1/2 orange
    frozen strawberries
2 big handfuls of baby spinach
    3/4 cup water
    1 scoop whey protein powder
    dash of honey

Anyone else got any new tasty recipes?

I agree that rinsing a lot can dry out people's skin but I have oily skin so it helps mine out a lot. I'm trying to just keep it down to 4-5x a day that way I don't aggravate my skin either.

something that's really been WORKING for me
I've been rinsing my face everytime i use the bathroom with just plain water and pressing my clean fingertips firmly into my skin. this has helped make my skin baby soft, i kid you not. it also helps shed my dead skin buildup and my zits are healing faster. everyday my skin gets softer and it has stayed that way (not just something i notice in the mornings) as long as i continually rinse my face throughout the day making sure i firmly press my fingertips all over my face when rinsing (not roughly just firmly). i'd say i probably rinse my face 5-6 times a day. it's really made a difference though in just a few days!

Has anyone gotten clear from fish oil alone?
I just gotta know if anyone has gotten 100% completely clear from taking fish oil only? I've taken it for 6 months and though it made improvements in my skin (healthier looking, rosy glow, fewer breakouts) it has never completely been clear.

I wonder if i'm missing something here for it not to work a 100%. It could possibly be in my diet somewhere but i remain clueless in that area. If anyone has gotten completely clear from just taking fish oil, please share with us your regimen/experience etc.

    who prescribes spiro?
Thinking of trying to get a prescription for Spiro, what doctor do i need to see about that? Can a regular doctor prescribe it or do i need to go to a derm?

I checked the apple juice I'm using, no weird artifical sweetners or anything!

I made a delicious smoothie last night too! Here's what I used:

    -handful of spinach leaves
    -frozen mixed fruit (melons,grapes,peaches)
    -3 strawberries
    -1/4 orange
    -plain yogurt
    -little bit of apple juice
-1 scoop vanilla flavored whey protein

Thanks for the reply. I think adding baby carrots would be an excellent idea actually! I'll have to try that soon. I searched and searched Walmart's juice aisle for the least sugary juice and came up with lite apple juice with just 14g of sugar versus some "natural" apple juices that contained up to 48g! far as the oranges, i'm pretty darn certain my acne is hormonal and i've gone a long time w/o eating them and not noticed a reduction in acne
do you think the green smoothies helps balance out hormones?
