    New Responsive Design
    The forum has historically used a special theme for mobile phones but this was never an ideal solution. First and foremost it didn't work at all with tablets, making the tablet experience sub-par. Sometimes the mobile theme wouldn't trigger or users wouldn't wrongly be served the mobile skin on a desktop browser. There were also many missing features in the mobile skin.
    We've been working on a solution in the form of a responsive design. This means the forum will now respond to your devices and it's size. If you make your browser window smaller, the size of the forum will respond in real-time and when you visit on your mobile phone, you'll be served the exact same website, with all of the features but in a format that works perfectly on your phone.
    Your feedback will help us ensure you get the best possible experience regardless of what device you're using.

    Lewis, IMO you generally dont need an SPF here in the UK unless it's particularly sunny.
    I found one for the face just the other day, it's for my hols:
    You maybe better with a moisturiser with an SPF 15, much less hassle and more appropriate for daily use in the UK.

    I for one love the fact that you're not willing to sell something that you feel isn't perfect and also willing to test and offer great alternatives. I know when it eventually arrives, it will be crazy awesome.

    New Features
    Today we released a number of noteworthy new features.
    1. Edit your own reviews
    New and existing reviews you make in the product reviews section can now be edited.
    To edit a review you've made you can click the red edit button next to your review, alternatively click the "write review" button on the product page and you'll receive a prompt that you've already written a review.

    Click "Go to your review" and you'll see a red edit button.
    [attachment=49996:Screen Shot 2013-06-25 at 21.55.46.png]
    Clicking edit will allow you to edit your review in realtime, where you can change everything from the rating to the review itself.

    2. Other noteworthy review section enhancements
    You'll also notice there are several new tabs which you can see on the Olay Complete product page. The ingredients tab shows you a list of ingredients and a really useful feature is that it highlights comedogenic ingredients in red.
    [attachment=50000:Screen Shot 2013-06-25 at 22.12.45.png]
    The "where to buy" tab will show you reputable places to buy the products from. These are direct links to the products and not affiliate links, is not compensated in any way for clicks to these links.

    The "Report" tab allows you to report any issues you find with the product listing i.e. the product is now discontinued.
    You'll also notice the new "+ favorite" button which allows you to keep track of all your favorite products. This list is also visible to your friends and other members via your profile.
    3. Achievements
    This is brand new and you may have already noticed it. At the moment there are 2 areas of the website you can earn achievements, the forum and product reviews section. The main idea of the achievements is it's just a fun way to recognise your contributions at but also a way for other members to how much you contribute.
    Achievements are visible in both the forum and your profile, via the achievements tab.

    [attachment=49999:Screen Shot 2013-06-25 at 21.57.40.png]
    On the achievements tab, the levels marked in green are levels you've already achieved and those in grey are levels you've not yet achieved. Each level has a corresponding badge, for example for 1 product review you receive a badge "Junior Reviewer". At present the badges are visible in both the forum and profiles, however, the reviews section will also soon reflect your current level i.e "Bronze Reviewer".
    There will be new achievements introduced periodically, please feel free to share any ideas of future achievements you'd like to see. i.e. Achievements for number of likes to your reviews or the number of photos you've shared in the gallery etc.
    Please let us know if you find any issues or have feedback/questions on any of the new features.

    You may well be allergic to either the BP or another ingredient in it. I would personally try another BP and see how your skin reacts. If it's the same with the new BP, then it's likely you're allergic to BP.

  11. real maverick added a post in a topic Intermittent Fasting For Clear Skin

    I've only ever done 16 hours. It sounds a long time and I was certain I wouldn't be able to do it. But it turned out to be really easy, largely because you're asleep for 8 of them and then do 4 hours either side. Your body adjusts very quickly and after a few days, you'll be in a routine.
    @alternativista I think the fact I'm always hungrier later, is why this works better for me, whereas for you, it's the other way around. Maybe worth people testing both.

    Oh I am! Just curious about IF and its effects on acne.

    Intermittent Fasting For Clear Skin
    I'm 33 now and after a bout of Accutane, my skin is generally clear. I use intermittent fasting for weight loss and on the occasions I've done it, my skin is flawless.  I've read on several studies and experiences that people have experienced clearer skin while fasting.
    I am the worlds worst when it comes to diets, I give up easily, especially fasting. I believe I lasted 4 hours when I tried the apple detox many years ago. So I wanted to share my own experience with IF. I believe almost anybody could do this.
    What is intermittent fasting?
    Intermittent fasting (IF) is a pattern of eating that alternates between periods of fasting (usually meaning consumption of water and sometimes low-calorie drinks such as black coffee) and non-fasting (eating regular food). -Wikipedia
    Studies have shown that after 6 hours of fasting, the body enters a cleansing stage, where the cells recycle and repair. It's also been shown to have amazing anti-inflammatory effects on the body. But the exact science between acne and IF I do not know.
    What's the best way to perform IF (in my experience and humble opinion)
    An 8 hour eating window with a 16 hour fast (which seems a lot but it's not). 8 hours are spent asleep, 4 hours after you wake up and 4 hours before you sleep. Skip breakfast. It's not the most important meal of the day, contrary to what breakfast cereal manufacturers would have you believe. If I have breakfast, I'll be hungry again a few hours later, if I skip it, I can easily hold out until 2pm. Start eating at 2pm and stop at 10pm. This suits me because I am usually more hungry in the evening. But others maybe better suited to starting to eat at noon. Eat at regular intervals. IMO this makes it easier, your body quickly falls in to the routine. I have 400 calories at 2pm, 400 at 6pm and 400 calories at 10pm. If you don't want to lose weight, ramp up the calories to 600-800 per meal. Eat lower carb than you usually would (not zero carb). This really helps keep your blood sugar levels more stable and prevents cravings. Personally, I don't choose super healthy foods but if you enjoy them, it wouldn't hurt. For those of you who don't enjoy only eating fruits and vegetables (like me), then just eat your usual foods, I don't believe it will effect your results. But be mindful of calorie consumption.
    It's worth noting that many people believe it's not important to count calories during IF, but I personally wouldn't recommend eating anymore than 2,000 calories per day when trying this.
    So if any of you are looking for a natural approach to clear skin and not currently following a routine, it maybe worth giving this a go.
    Any of you already tried this? How long for? What were your results?
    Lean gains one of the original IF dudes!  Dr talks about the anti-inflammatory effects of IF, as well as the cellular repair. Wikipedia on IF

  14. real maverick added a comment on a blog entry Day 104 Of Accutane!

    Haha good thing to say yes to the sunburn, it's much easier!

    Have you thought about perhaps trying a translucent powder? Clinique do one as part of their redness solutions. It's fairly good at toning down redness and shine.

    For the problem with your hands, just make sure you're not getting your hands in the sun or drinking alcohol. Those two things would give me that nasty rash. Major pain in the butt!

    I would personally stick to what your doc says. The side effects are a pain but in the end it will be worth it.

    I too had a funny rash on my hands during accutane, it happened every time I went out in the sun. One day I was sat in the shade during a meeting but realised my hand was in the sun, my hand got this weird rash all over it. Same happened if I drank alcohol during accutane too. I only tried it once, with a single bottle and never again!
