    3Rd Month
It has been awhile since I have updated. During that time nothing really changed. It has now. I'm just getting into my third month and my face is FINALLY completely clear. I have ONE small pimple that has been around for a long time but it is small and going away. I am completely AMAZED when I look in the mirror.

My side effects are still around. Some have gotten better and some far worse. My face is now peeling in certain areas which makes make-up application much harder. I still use foundation even though my face is now clear because I still have scarring I like to cover up.

My lips are still extremely dry, which I'm assuming will last until I am off of this. I wake up to cracked and bleeding lips even though I LOAD up on aquaphore before bed.

I am definately more tired and achey. When I move too quick or have a long day my joints are pretty sore.

All of this is WELL worth it though because my face looks AMAZING!

Thanks... this is all very confusing stuff! I'm not sure what was higher all she said was liver function? Hopefully it's like you and it gets better I don't want to have to go off of the accutane that's for sure. Especially after everything I went through to get on it!

    1 Month Check Up... Scared
Today was my 1 month check up. My liver function was elevated since last time... that makes me a little nervous. They didn't really say too much about it and all I saw on the sheet was that it said +40 ? I still got my prescription for this month I'm just praying it isn't eleveated too much and I can continue to take this for the full 5 months.

Today my derm gave me 6 shots of cortisone. 5 in some larger nodules and 1 in my lip? The corner of my lip is really cracked so she gave me a cortisone shot in the lip? I don't know. I don't really understand what it does but if it helps i'll be happy.

Symptoms are the same, dry chapped lips, kinda dry skin, dry eyes and dry nose. Still getting occasional headaches but nothing advil can't cure.

Hoping to god this liver function thing isn't too serious.

    Help! Dry Lips!
What do you use for your dry lips ?

Seriously my lips are so dry and the corners are so cracked I can't even eat and have to drink from a straw I'm literally dreading brushing my teeth. Right now I'm using aquaphor and caramex a d it's not helping!! (

You're skin isn't really as bad as you think it looks verrrrry similar to mine so we started around the same time and looks like we have very similar breakouts.

    Start Of Week 3
Starting week 3, my acne has imporved significantly. Still no IB and really hoping it stays that way.

As far as symptoms go, my dry lips are terrible. Cracks in the corner, hard to eat and hard to brush my teeth without bothering the cracked corners. I've been switching on and off all day and night between aquaphor and caramex, sometimes both at the same time... anything for some relief!!

My dry eyes are a little better, been using artificial tears 5-6 times a day and that has been helping.

My skin on my face is begining to get pretty dry so i've been using cetaphil mosturizer now day and night to help with dryness.

Otherwise, things seem to be pretty normal. The best part is not have any breakouts right now :-D

wishing you lots of luck!! are you going to be gradually upping the dose or staying on the 20mg? I've noticed most people don't experience the IB until they get to the high dosage. My derm started me right off at 60 mg to get it out of the way :-/ i'm on day 15 and no IB yet! fingers crossed.

As far as the weird white heads, i got them too... on my chin! they've since cleared and I don't have any... i swear it was JUST like a black head, only white. claravis kicked their asses!

Wishing you the best on this journey!

I'll give it a try... anything is worth a try to help make it work! I just can't wait to not break out anymore so I can hopefully get these acne scars under control... that's my main problem is the scarring :-/

I usually take my first pill of the day with my lunch which varies daily as far as what i eat. My second pill I take before bed so whatever is in my stomach from the day... i'm going to try the olive oil too!

    Day 11
Day 11, oddly enough my side effects seem to have improved rather than gotten worse? Has this happened to anyone else? This worries me. My dry eyes that were terrible just 2 days ago are now manageable, my dry nose is barely bothering me at all and my dry lips are mild compared to what they were 2 days ago.

I know I should probably be extrememly happy but i'm more concerned that it isn't working as well?

As far as acne goes I've gotten another little white head on my jaw line... nothing major. Still no IB.

Yes I have the dry lips, dry nose and dry eyes. A little more tired than usual and back aches. I guess because I'm on a high dose I'm getting the effects fast. Idk why I'm on such a high dose. Oh well! I've been keeping the side effects at controlled as possible and trying to stay positive that its all worth it in the end.

We're very close in our journeys. I'm on my 9th day today. I also experienced headaches and sickness the first 4 days but my body has since adjusted and now it's just all of the other annoying but normal side effects. What is your dosage? I'm taking 60mg a day. Wishing you a ton of luck and stay positive it will be worth it!!!!

Thanks! I'm going to tell my derm about my eyes. They are really bothering me and they're extremely blood shot. I look like I'm high! -__- haha. The only exercise I do is walk my dog so maybe ill restart my gym membership to help with this process.

    Start Of Week 2
I decided I'd really like to document my progress. This medication is pretty intense. Today is the first day of my second week. I am currently on 60 mg per day. It seems a little high? I'm 24 years old, 5'7" and 120 lbs. I see a lot of people on 20-40 mg but I guess my derm knows better than me. I've only gotten 3 white heads since starting last week which is a MAJOR improvement.

    Side effects ...
    * My first 4 days I had terrible headaches that lasted continually 4 days straight. It had me very nervous but I think my body is more used to the medication because they have since stopped and I haven't had another headache.

*dry eyes started at day 3 ... Getting worse. Currently using artificial tests with very little relief.

*dry lips started around day 6. Today the corners are cracking. I've been using caramex and aquphor for this and it's been helping but I'm applying constantly.

*dry nose started day 6 this is annoying. It feels terrible. I've read of people using moisturizers inside the nose and saline spray. I hated the way lotion felt and I've actually been using caramex inside the nostril which is working GREAT instant relief from pain of dryness and smells good

*dry throat. I've been drinking so much water I'm peeing constantly but still have dry throat.

*dry skin ... Really just starting today and isn't too bad at all yet. Currently using cetephil moisturizer at night and noutregina daily moisture during the day.

    *so so so tired.

    *mild back pain.

This is already an exhausting journey. As my eyes bother me so bad I can barely type and I just used drops. Just hoping this works and trying to be positive.
