Hey girl! Just wanted to comment on this post. It's so good to hear from you! I too was in the class of 2010/2011 acne kids. Back then I was in my early 20s, going through self esteem issues, and lots of stress from university. You were hands down my favorite acne.org member. I loved your posts and you gave me so much hope with trying to make my skin clear. This is gonna sound crazy, but I'm a JET alum too (and was placed in the south too!) Prior to going to Japan, I managed to get my skin under control. But DURING Japan, oh boy that was an experience. I know exactly what you mean about weaning off the system. I've managed to do it myself. But I've come to terms with the fact that I'm acne prone and I'll probably go back to it during times of stress, living in a new environment or any situation that will be too much for my body to handle. That's the one thing that I found to be the most helpful, and you mentioned it too: consistency. Having a routine. I hate admiting that. Another thing that has been a game changer for me is exercise, energy balance (more or less equal amounts of calories in and out), eating real whole foods, and drinking a big serving of a green smoothie everyday. I'm so excited to hear your progress. がんばって!!!
