"I had acne all over my face, which I'd had for years and years. And she's like: 'Hey, you're lactose intolerant. If you quit dairy, all these symptoms you got will be gone in three days.' I was like twenty-four. And I was like, No way. But three days later: gone."
I've also just started taking prebiotics/probiotics after being paleo for a while now. Been consuming raw sauerkraut and leeks as prebiotics. I hope it's the next step in the right direction to restoring my gut. Will post about results after a few weeks.
So this is a picture from back in September 2011 when I became super down and depressed about my acne. This was when I decided to stop trying the topical approach and explore it from the inside via diet. Note: I had to apply a filter to the picture to accentuate the acne as the original picture didn't show just how bad I saw it when I looked in the mirror. It still really doesn't.
And here I am today:
Note: I still have some post-inflammatory marks from almost a year ago that need to fade, but it doesn't really show up in the photo. You can see it a bit to the sides of my nose and my cheekbones. I also still have those pesky little blackheads.

Gluten-free pizza, no cheese, pepperoni (Got sucked into a pizza party at work. 'cause you know, valentine's day is all about pizza. Not sure how my supervisor caught wind of my diet. Must've overheard me talking to a co-worker that I wasn't going in for it and that I don't eat gluten or dairy. Didn't want to make a big deal about it, but she found some place that offers it. It was pretty good. I'm curious what the crust was made out of, though. Ended up eating the whole pizza to myself, lol)
Romaine lettuce, lot o' chilli (ground beef, kidney beans, chick peas, spices, tomato sauce)
Ton of walnuts
Probably upwards of 5000-6000 calories today. Weight gain go!
Large sweet potato w/ ground cumin
Half a head of cabbage, olive oil, chick peas
Baby carrots, green beans, broccoli, chicken thighs w/ garlic powder
Can of tuna
700g of lean ground beef w/ turmeric
Salmon typically spoils quicker than other meat. Usually just a couple days depending on when it was caught and then placed on the shelf. You can place it in the freezer where it'll keep for up to 2-3 weeks.
