I am new to this forum, though I've been obsessively checking out this site almost daily for over a month. Brief history: I'm a 32 year old female. I briefly had acne on my face in high school and took minocycline for it which cleared it up quickly and permanently. I would get pimples on my back and shoulders now and again but only one or two on occasion.

Several months ago my back started breaking out more severely all over and I have no idea why. I tried every product known to man and nothing worked. I stumbled upon this site with Dan's regimen for bacne. Desperate, I followed it to a T. For 3 or more weeks my back was hideous!! I had done research online and it described a purging process from the glycolic acid. So after 5 weeks my back seemed like it was basically clear and I felt victorious! Unfortunately I just went on a vacation to the beach last week and on the 3rd day my back broke out badly again. I was so angry and frustrated!! Especially since I had to be in a bikini. From everything that I've heard, salt water and sun could only improve bacne!!

Well here I am again. I went to the dermatologist as soon as I got back and he prescribed Aczone topical medication to apply 2x day. I'm not sure if I want to start using the glycolic acid lotion again since the "purging" process took so long and was sooo bad. I don't understand how I could've broken out so quickly after I had supposively removed all of the dead cells and clogs!

The dermatologist told me to use the Aczone for a month and if it didn't get better to come back for oral antibiotics. As you guys know a month seems like forever. I almost just want to go back to him and get the antibiotics since it's what cleared my face years ago. I don't know what to do and from my experience dermatologists don't seem to care about their patients.

Yesterday I started showering with Peter Thomas Roth AHA body polish and PTR AHA shower gel.
I'm so over this. I figure you guys understand since I have no one else to talk to about it.

Any advice would be appreciated.
