i recently tried the AHA as a moisturizer in the evenings. it's been great, but my skin is slightly red and flaky. usually for evenings i use 1.5 - 2 pumps dan's moisturizer plus 5 drops jojoba to stop the flaking. do i add jojoba to the AHA the couple of times a week when i use it as a moisturizer?

thanks.

i've been on the regimen for almost 2 months. i'm up to 1 pump BP at night, and 1/2-3/4 pump in the morning. it's controlling the huge, awful breakouts i used to have eusa_dance.gif but i am still having a couple of pimples every couple of days. the BP has them getting not as large and going away quicker, but i'd love to nip those in the bud as well. so i ordered the AHA+.

i watched dan's video about how to use it for spot treatement. it wasn't clear about using it before or after the moisturizer? i tried it afterwards, but i'm thinking maybe before? also, it's rather liquidy, which makes it difficult for me to apply it directly on the spots and it's getting on more areas of my face. (and i haven't been on the regimen long enough for me to start using AHA as a moisturizer). it also doesn't seem to be having any effect.

if some of you can give me explicit details about how to apply the AHA+ for spot treatment, i would very much appreciate it!! thanks! smile.gif

if anything, my face can tolerate more BP than when i started. how come i look like i did before i started the regimen? my face was nice and clear for 2 weeks (leave aside the redness and flakiness as i accidentally put on too much BP and my face is adjusting). i don't look as bad as my worst days, but i have a whole bunch of pimples. on my chin, next to my mouth, on my jaw, on my neck...

what's going on? am i doing something wrong?

thanks for any help! confused.gif

what will happen if i don't use the moisturizer or if i don't put it on 15 min after the BP? does it affect the treatment of acne, or is it only to prevent dryness and flaking?

i sort of dread the morning regimen because my face is somewhat greasy for a few hours as the moisture sinks in. plus if i accidentally apply too much BP (i'm only on the regimen for 2.5 wks) then it makes it burn worse.

i've found in general that waiting a half hour to an hour makes it burn less. will this affect the effectiveness of the BP?

then, this morning, i had to go out soon after i applied to BP and just couldn't face feeling greasy for hours. so i didn't apply the moisturizer, and i felt much better all day.

at night, i also feel greasy after applying the moisturizer, but when i wake up in the morning my skin feels great.

thanks for any replies. i have another question but i'll ask it in another post eusa_shifty.gif

i am 33 years old and have moderate acne. it gets worse when i am stressed since i'm a picker. i finally got sick of it and was going to try proactiv. during my google search, i came across this site, and i started the regimen.

after 2 days, pretty much my acne was all gone (except for one i had picked waaaay horribly). and it hasn't really come back!

when i started, i started too intensely. i didn't work my way up to 1 pump; i started w/ 1.5. well, now i'm back down to 1 since i turned beet red and flaked all over the place and it burned like crazy.

the problem is, when i put on too little, i still break out some (though i can't complain too much--it's been a week and a half and i am nowhere near how i was when i threw my hands up and decided to purchase something). i have almost no more blackheads, and no more red pimples, and only a couple coming in here and there. hopefully as i work my way up to 2 pumps, i will be using enough that i won't break out anymore.

when i use too much, i flake and burn and turn red. when i use too little, i get some pimples. so i'm searching for the right balance. i figure it will take me a few more weeks until my skin is used to the BP and then hopefully i won't break out so much.

i'm tempted to buy the jojoba oil and the AHA, but i'm trying to be patient and just get used to the bare bones of the regimen.

right now, what i'm doing is sort of rotation areas where i put the BP. when one area starts to flake, i don't put any there for a couple of days, until i see that i'm starting to break out in that area. so around my mouth flaked, so i left it alone and concentrated on jawline. now jawline is beginning to flake, and around my mouth looks like it's about to break out, so i switched.

i'm still getting the hang of this. i'll keep updating! in the meantime, it is an absolute pleasure to have the clearest complexion i have had in years. i haven't needed to wear foundation since i started (lol except the day i was beet red and needed to lighten my face!).
