It has been 3.5 weeks for me on tazorac and I have honestly not seen a significant difference in my skin. .What I HAVE been noticing is if I feel my skin, along with my regular moderate acne, I have pimples under the skin that are painful to the touch. They usually come to the surface after atleast a week and a half, but has anyone else experienced this on taz? Whats going on? Will my skin EVER get better?

Hello. Since I was 12, I've suffered from moderate acne. When I was 15, I went to my first derm and she prescribed Benzaclin and Trentinoin, this stuff worked wonders and I was nearly 100% clear for a year....then it all came crashing down in the past few months, my skin has gotten sooo bad. I'm not here complaining about a few pimples, we are talking big inflamed ones on my cheeks, slight red and purple scarring (I just recently started to scar sad.gif ) and four dozen comedones on my forehead, and getting acne where I never had it before (on my temples, chin, and upper lip) Basically, it has infested my entire face, I have never been so humiliated or felt so low on confidence before. Eight weeks ago, I was prescribed differin (by a diff derm) and it did nothing for me. Now, just a couple days ago, I was prescribed "Tazorac" I'm praying this medication will work for me and finally put an end to my acne struggles.

Thus, I start my Tazorac log. I will try and update everyday on my progress.

Well,I went to the derm today. I brought up several other conditions I researched and he blew me off all arrogantly; proceeding to call me a "web search freak." and that I should look up comedones...OBVIOUSLY I have looked those up before :/ Then he prescribed tazorac with cetaphil lotion and cetaphil antibacterial bar smile.gif he recommended a chemical peel too, and said if this doesnt work, I have the most stubborn acne case ever.. so lets hope it works sad.gif PLEASE. I asked about an IB and he said I would get one. Also, no more olive oil on the skin ALTHOUGH that did help, but it has given me more whiteheads. But brought down redness.

Any thoughts on this prescription?

I know what I have now. For sure. An overgrowth of candida is causing folliculitis on my forehead. It looks EXACTLY like this picture here: http://www.acneskincareblog.com/wp-content...tis-300x164.jpg maybe worse since I made the mistake of pinching it..nothing came out of course.

Ive read up on candida diets but idk sad.gif its hard. What should I do about this!? please help!

Well for years I have struggled with acne. In the beginning, I applied benzaclin and trentionoin and it cleared me all up...then it came back..and I went to the derm again and he told me to stay on benzaclin but try differin. It did nothing.

Ive had problems with excessive dead skin buildup all over my body and on my scalp, I have psoriasis (which is also basically a buildup of dead skin.) Along with this, I have excessive oil production and my skin look damp BUT it is dry at the same time, (if that makes sense?) So when you touch it, it feels like a dead skin barrier with oil underneath. I also have problems with candida yeast and dont know if this is affecting my acne at all.

My acne is moderate and only occurs on my face.

When I pinch my skin, it scabs, scars and turns red for two weeks.

Ive done research on google and have looked up several things, gone to derms who just give me useless prescriptions, so I need YOUR help.

What is wrong with me????
