QUOTE (Kwassa Kwassa @ Jul 4 2009, 04:11 AM) *
I think you've posted one of the best logs I've ever read on this site. Thank you so much for taking the time to post this. I'm on my fifth week on the DKR, and my progress has been very similar to what you have displayed on your log. Seriously, reading this log gives me confidence I'm doing the right thing for my acne.

Thanks again! I can't wait to see your next update.

Hey Kwassa (x2) smile.gif
Thankyou so much for reading! I'm so glad you're getting something out my ramblin!! lol
I havent posted on here for over a month, so its always good to know someone's reading still. No matter what happens on your journey with the regimen, never lose hope! xx

So - Day 142 - End of Week 19 : Just when you think things couldnt get any worse...

I have had potentially THE worst month of my life. Its nothing compared to other people and what's happening to them at the moment, but I really am over crying every day.
Things financially are cr*p. I've been waiting for my group certificates from my current employer and my old one - the old one apparently believes in holding a grudge for leaving them in the lurch when I found out my brother only had months to live and my plans on leaving them after giving notice were cut short when I had to return to my home city earlier than I thought. Thankfully for my brother it ended up being okay in the end, but the employer decided to fudge details about my income whereby I would owe the ATO (like the IRS) money instead of getting a return.
Things were just starting to turn around and now this. Frustrated much?
However, thankfully, I have not had one breakout since my last post. I have had a semi-lump here or there (possibly about 3 over the month) that the AHA fixed and I've not had one head up in all that time.

My scars have slowly started to fade, they'll take some time I know, but seeing the improvement is the main thing. Ive been going more places wi9thout makeup (i even went to the supermarket this afternoon without even bothering with concealer and spent an hour there - go me!).
I've been trying to use the AHA more religiously, so that might be helping!

Other news, in May I confirmed I was still using antibiotics to help clear things up. I havent taken that regularly since I last posted (havent been able to afford the next prescrption), nd I've been off them entirely for 2 weeks. Go me again!

Hopefully I'll try and maintain this log a little better than I have been - trying not to lose hope in any other areas of my life is a bit of a struggle at the moment.

Anywho - thanks for reading and here are photos taken just now, enjoy!
Marti xx

Day 155 - Blergh...

So I've been uber slack again with the posting and the photo-taking. Just have not been .. in the mood isnt the right way to say it, but just not caring about a lot of things at the moment...
Things are still pooh with life, my partner has been out of work since February (hopefully not for much longer) and things are quite skint at the moment.

I've almost run out of DKR face wash, so for the last two or so weeks I've been using Garnier deep clean cream wash, which surprisingly has not made a difference to my treatment (its also a little better at taking off makeup at night) and I've still used the DKR wash in the morning because you only need not even half a pump for it to do its job.
I've also not been on the antibiotics since my last post - thankyou being poor - but I've still not had a breakout at all, so hopefully I dont have to worry about taking it anymore.

I havent taken any photos since my last post, but I'll take some on my regular monday night post (promising myself i'll keep doing this just for something to focus on), but I've been monitoring my scars and some of the really deep ones have really started to fade, so I'm using less concealer and less makeup (also a money saver).

I think in hindsight since I started this thing over 5 months ago, I would have spent $180 all up on my skincare routine whereas normally that might be more than 3-4 times buying other stuff and then spending even more on makeup to tryand hide it.
I've been recommending the dkr regimen to anyone who will listen, not only for the face happiness, but the wallet happiness I've had since I've been using it. I cant help but laugh when I watch proactiv commercials (and I've watched a few this week as I've been off work due to influenza minus the swine), I know everyone on there is happy and oh so crystal clear, but I remember the burning I felt when I used it and the cysts that developed afterwards - silly, gullible people. lol

Anywho, so I've updated my sig to reflect my current regime, and I'll post again on 20/7/09.

Thanks for reading!
Marti

Day 165 - Spoke too soon...

So in the weeks that I've been harping on about not getting any pimples - you guessed it, got one. Bugger of a thing - but thankfully I'd had the drunken foresight to cut myself a fringe prior to it appearing (which may be WHY it appeared in the first place).
It appeared 6 days ago on the right side of my forehead, now the little crettin is but a distant memory - huzzah for DKR!

I wont give you my usual blend of ramblings tonight - I'm feeling less philosophical about things at the moment and a little bit more focused.
My partner is looking to re-enter the workforce and I can finally see things falling into place - huzzah again, I say! Which means I wont have to use the garnier stuff I've been alternating with dkr cleanser (which I also think contributed to the nasty bugger on my forehead). Three cheers for gainful employment!

Anywho - here be the progress of my journey so far:

Day 191 - Getting more and more slack...

I dont know what it is, I just forget to keep coming on here, and it frustrates me because I really want to keep up to date with this log.

I guess I've been going through some stuff again, sometimes it feels like it never ends, and I just want my life to run smoothly and free from stress.
My partner started work just after my last post and I can at least see improvements in that area - family on the other hand, dont even go there.
The only thing thats surfaced on my face was a tiny whitehead on my right nostril right in the corner (talk about painful), but that went away after some gentle washing (I say gentle, but I was a bit more liberal with it lol). I have a tiny pimple under my right ear, its not even worth photographing.

I guess that's a good sign about the dkr regimen though - through all the sh*t I'm experiencing, its kept all of the 'accers' at bay.

Again, I'm not going to ramble but hve some recent photos taken... 2 minutes ago. smile.gif

Hey Strato - thanks! 99.9% of pictures are taken without makeup, I usualy advise if its with or without. They're almost always taken at the same time each week - after night time shower after work, when the make-up's all gone. My profile pic is the one with the makeup and I think there's another one I had taken when my face was blown up from wisdom teeth surgery too.
Thanks again!!

Thanks also to alexandra91 - its nice to think that in some small corner of the world someone's reading what you go through. I spent HOURS at first reading people's blogs that inspired me - check out halon2 for more inspiration, her log got me into dkr.
I hope you see the results that you want to see - every day you have one less pimple is one small victory! biggrin.gif

Hey to all - Its been well over 2 months since I last posted. I have been super slack - well super busy. Had some stupid family s**t go down that really messed up my entire year. Grr.
Anyways - I havent got any pics this time around, its 10:30pm and I REALLY didnt mean to be on here posting, but couldnt help myself becaues I like to waffle (but y'all knew that) eusa_dance.gif

I've had a couple of little zits - right now I have one on my ear lobe. Yes. You read correctly. My EARLOBE. What the??? I put it all down to stress - but I figure after the 2 months I've had, I expected a full blown breakout. Instead, I had one above my eyebrow, one small one on my right cheek, then my left, but not all at the same time. Probably one each week for 3 weeks, but they've sort of all faded away now.

Not looking forward to summer - the oilies are beginning and I was just starting to like having semi-matt skin.

Does anyone who read this know of a good oil control moisturiser that wont mess with the regimen thats also available in Australia? Any information would be a blessing.

Thanks again for reading - I'll try post some photos in a couple of days (also so I can see how far along my scars are coming too, for my own curiosity).

Take it easy,
Marti
