ACCUTANE DIARY started 19/09/09

Okay. Iv always come on and checked out the sight but never really posted much. Iv just started Accutane last week and having a initial outbreak which really got me contemplating whether I ve done the right thing. Upon reading various logs I think it would be a good idea to follow suit. Check out Pedors log. He inspired me to started a log right away.


Iv been battling acne for ages now but only gotten severe this year which severely dented my confidence; especially the fact it was my final year at uni! Should be the best time of my life. Shouldn't be worrying about this kinda shit! ( mind my language)
Iv decided to to go on accutane after rejecting it in June after reading horrid stories about it.
I have been put on 40 mg and I weigh 150 pounds.

FIRST WEEK day 1-7

First few days I got really bad head aches. My face became more tight and drier. 3rd day I got an IB with cyst on my cheeks and jaw line! really bad! Iv got a really sore patch along my left jaw line which hurts like hell. Anyways today is my 7th day on accutane. My face is tight , sore and red. I have cyst and scabs on my jaw line. Every time I wake up the next day some of the spots turn black and scabby. I dont know if this is normal.

I just wanted to know if you guys moisturse twice a day? Im thinking of moisturising more but Im scared itll break me out and counteracts the drug.
Iv purchased a bottle of bio oil and going to use it to get rid of flakes and moisturise my face.


Any advice much welcome!!

Cream To Use On Accutane

Just wanted to know if any of you guys have had experience with these moisturisers( alterative suggestions welcome but I live in UK so no cetaphil!)

EUCERIN replenshing (5% urea)

bio oil

ALSO do you moisturize twice a day whilst on accutance???????

I started accutane last week and already having a IB. rough bumpy sore tight skin!

Also how do I exfloliate my skin? I seem to have excess skin after having a shower possibly from accutane? Bio oil actually good at exfoliating skin fom previous past experience

MOISTURIZER on ACCUTANE

Hey,

Iv started accutane a few days ago. DO you moisturizer twice a day? once in the morning and once beofre you sleep? IM not sure if that lessens the effect of accutane. Basically my face is dry and really sore! especially around the jaw line where I have cyst.

Basically I just want to know what is a good moisturiser that I can purchase in the UK!! is Euracin good? and is it possile to use bio oil instead?

O and also when yu get flakey skin how do you get rid of it!?!? exfloliaters are to harsh for me sore skin right now.

Hi,

Iv been battling acne on and off for ages! this summer its gotten progressively worse! my skin is tight , sensitive, dry and shiny. Its really getting me down and I want to start a course on accutane. Just scared of all the side effects and stories Iv heard. Could anyone tell me how it has worked out for them and how long it took til you saw results and what the side effects were in the first month.

hi im just wondering slathering loads of jojoba oil on at night after washing and before bed cause outbreaks??.....i have very dry sensitive skin with acne.
