I've been struggling with acne for 4 years now, it first started when I was 13 and I would get minor pimples around my chin. This year though it got cystic (not huge cysts) but little cysts and papules. I wish I treated it earlier, I just ignored it thinking it was like any other pimple. I was wrong. Now I am on roaccutane starting off at 20mg.
I haven't really scarred yet but a bit (not deep) its only noticable in certain lighting and angles. My mother had acne at my age and to this day she has very large pores My dad didn't have acne and has flawless skin, why didn't I get that gene? its so annoying. My acne is considered severe. I'm on my fourth day. Day 1 no side effects Day 2 no side effects Day 3 headaches stiff neck day 4 headaches stiff neck SUPPLIES sunscreen and lipbalm dry touch 30spf by neutrogena covergirl aquasmooth foundation drinking 3L of water a day I haven't got anything else yet, my skin isn't dry.. Buying zinc tomorrow

I'm going to use the obvious contraceptives while I'm on accutane but I'd hate to risk getting pregnant and hurting a innocent baby. I heard that it kind of hurts while your on it too even if you use lubricant.......
So with the risk should I avoid it all together?

Hi, well, I have facial acne very badly and if I could I'd swap this for chest and back acne anyday and I'm sorry if anyone thinks I'm being insensitive but back acne and body acne can be covered by wearing clothes and usually doesn't scar.
When facial acne scars its devestating.

Hi, Well a few times now I get this werid clusters that pop up (very big) on my cheeks and their NOT cysts. They are like these pimples all stacked and close to eachother in different layers (its risen on the skin ). Its so werid. When I got to the bottom of the cluster there were werid pimlples with multiple heads.
What is this? It looks like a patch but when you open it (doesn't hurt, there not painful) there are like all little whiteheads.

Well, I really want to try this regimen because I want to avoid accutane if possible, really avoid it!!!!
I apply BP to my break out prone areas (cheeks) and AHA to my chin, forehead, sides of face and parts of the jawline. My skin feels so smooth and nice on the places that I applied BP and my skin is not irritated at all! Actually it looks calmer. |
