Just wanted to give you guys an update....

I have been using tazorac for 8 weeks now (PM only) and I was using Benzaclin in the AM. I was washing my face 2x per day with Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser.

Well, about 6 weeks in I was pretty satisfied with my results. I had a minimal IB around week 2 and 3 and then my skin just got continously better. I was still breaking out with 2 or 3 pustules a week however. This was still an improvement since before the taz I would have about 6 to 7 pustules a week.

Well, I went to the US and I came across ACNE FREE SEVERE at target for $29? I think. Well, I decided to incorporate this into my regimen since I figured it could only help. And help it did!

I replaced my AM Benzaclin with steps 1,2,& 3 from the ACNE FREE SEVERE kit. In the evening, I wash my face with the neutrogena cleanser (which ROCKS btw since it removes every last trace of makeup!), use the corrective toner from acne free, wait ten minutes, use step 4 (retinol renewal complex), wait 20 mins and apply tazorac all over face.

I saw results in 1 day! seriously. By day 3 I had no active acne on my face. I have been following this regimen for the past two weeks and I have had 2 small papules along my hair line in that time which never even came to head, but instead just shrank away.

Here is a point-form run down of the regimen:

AM
-wash with ACNE FREE SEVERE ANTIBACTERIAL CLEANSING WASH (Step 1)

-apply ACNE FREE SEVERE CORRECTIVE TONER with cotton ball (Step 2)

-apply ACNE FREE SEVERE MAXIMUM STRENGTH REPAIR LOTION (step 3) with cotton ball all over face

-apply moisturizer, sunscreen etc.

PM
-wash with NEUTROGENA FRESH FOAMING CLEANSER

-apply ACNE FREE SEVERE CORRECTIVE TONER with cotton ball (Step 2)

-WAIT TEN MINUTES

-apply ACNE FREE SEVERE RETINOL RENEWAL COMPLEX (Step 4)

-WAIT TWENTY MINUTES

-apply thin layer of TAZORAC 0.1% GEL all over face

I have seen some amazing results with this combo. My skin seriously has not been this clear since my last round of accutane in 2006, and its GLOWING!!! The ACNE FREE SEVERE KIT has 10% BP in the repair lotion. This might seem like alot, but my skin loves it and I am careful to apply a very thin layer.

Hope this helps any of you out there that need something to kickstart your topical retinoid.

ok so i just got a rx from my gp for benzaclin and taz 0.1%. He said if this combo doesnt work i will be going back on accutane......i dont wanna eusa_snooty.gif

now i just applied benzaclin since I havent yet grown the genitalia required for a tazorac application and all that shall ensue thereafter.

this benzaclin stuff feels GROSS on my skin. Like plastic wrap that hardened. The consistency is soo thick, it doesn't spread; it feels like it is just sitting on my face - doing nothing.

So, i used some olay regenersit night cream over it. I dont know if that helped it to absorb or if it just balled up and fell off my face, but my face feels better now

How do you guys use this stuff and make ur skin feel normal at the same time??? I havent used topicals in over 3 years, and i have never used this.... Suggestions please?

OK guys, here is my story....... I have had acne my whole life...Im 26 now. I have been on accutane 3 times - the last course was in the summer of 2006 - i had a thread about that here somewhere, you can search for it.

After coming off the tane in 2006 I was clear for about 1 year exactly. Then In September of 2007 i started breaking out again, just little papules here and there -- all over my cheeks and forehead.....and so the cycle was set off......

I began by trying mild stuff - BP, proactive, salycilic acid prodcuts, nothing worked.....then I started tazorac in December which led to ZERO improvement....since then I have been dealng with constant acne on my cheeks and forehead....and although sometimes I would maybe only have 2 or 3 active zits,..my face was ridden with bright red marks from the previous breakouts.....these were just not fadng.....

So....i started reading threads on this board about natural products, diet, there is even one about not washing your face (i was tempted to try it but I knew I wouldn't be able to keep that one up).

My friend owns a salon and she recommended that I try microdermabrasion....so in the past month I have had 3 treatments - this helped to lighten the red marks, but I actually felt that it made me break out more than ever........I really was just looking for a natural, low maintainence regimen to take care of this problem.

Well, In my freinds salon, she sells an ayurvedic beauty cream that she swears by (and so do her clients) and her skin is FAB! (and she used to have pretty acneic skin before)...... I was hesistant to use it because it is a cream....and us acne sufferers usually tend to run at the menition of something as greasy as cream......

ANywhoooo...finally i was like fuk it! I need to try something new and natural becasue i have been bombarding my face with chemicals and synthetic products for too long and it just needs a break.

So...I had 9 bars of an ayurvdic soap that I bought from India when i visited in Oct 07, but I never used because i was too busy running to shoppers drug mart and bying every new OTC prouct out there. I thought i would give it a shot since it had some pretty good reviews online. I also gave in an bought the cream from my friend which she sells.

I am 100% clear 2 weeks into this regimen....and I had about 7 active papules mostly on my cheeks the day i started.

Today I have no active acne, and my old red marks are fading each day.....I have not worn any makeup out.....not even my loved studio fix... in the past week.....

My skin is glowing and radiant and these 2 products are the only things I have changed....

so here are the products....

1) MEDIMIX handmade ayurvedic soap for skin blemishes with sandal and eladi oil

2) Beauty Plus cream - this product is not available online....my friend has a supplier who makes this creame by hand ---if you live in the toronto area, message me and I will tell you where u can find it.....If you want to try it and you do not live near toronto....I will try to set up a paypal account and start selling it...

go to http://www.cholayil.com/product.asp?cat=1&subcat=1 here you can view the medimix soap that I use.... people swear by the green one (effective for skin problems) but i havent used it.....this soap is available online somewhere....im not sure tho...just google it....I have a ton of bars that I bought from india for way cheap....like $2 canadian for 3 bars. The ingredients are also listed on the website.

The beauty plus cream contains only these ingredients - and this is the order that they are listed in on the label - -vitamin E, Aloe Vera, Gelatin, Purified and De-Ionized water, Neem, Manjistha, and Brahmi.

The last 3 ingredients in the cream are ayurvedic - google them and you will see what they are good for..

I wash with the soap ( all over my face for about 1 minute) and the pat dry with a towel.
Then I take out a generous portion of the cream (about the size of a kidney bean) and dot it all over my face, then blend it in......

I am soo happy with the radiance and glow of my skin..... I look fantastic with NO MAKEUP. I only wish that I had taken my friend's adivce sooner and started using this cream the first time she recommended it.

Any questions feel free to ask!

hey guys,

im wondering....... ive been on accutane 3 times and each time i cleared up rather quickly - (2 weeks) but only remained clear for about 1 year before i had to start using acne products again. I've noticed that people who took longer to get clear (2 or 3 months) usually stay clear longer as well. But i want to see if thats actually true. So.......in your responses, please post:

1) I became clear in my (insert # here) month of accutane treatment.

2) I remained clear for (insert months or years here).

THANKS GUYS, I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR RESPONSES.

IF YOUR CURRENTLY ON ACCUTANE, PLEASE POST THE ANSWER TO # 1.

IM REALLY INTERESTED TO SEE THE ANSWERS!!!!!!
