Ok....so i gotta really calm down here. Im freaking out like crazy. So last week I got a couple of cold sores on my lips and thought nothing...maybe a reaction to accutane and perhaps the hot spring weather? But today i see that i have a few more on my lips...really small ones but nonetheless they are there. I asked my friend what it could be....reaction to something i ate? the weather? or the accutane im currently taking (ive been on 40mg for 2 1/2 months)? she then says that i probably have herpes!!!!! HERPES??? I said WTF!?! She said that it is common for people to have herpes....especially on their lips! Is this true? But then i said....how can this be if im still a VIRGIN?!? she said that it can be transmitted by the stuff u eat..like sharing a mango or something. Man im so freaking out right now. Did anyone else experience cold sore breakouts while on accutane????

Im a guy with full lips and I actually think my lips are too big and sort of feminine looking. Weird but I like it when my lips get dry because they shrink in size... but then after a while they start to crack and flake and they look nasty. Im actually on accutane right now and i need to apply lip balm constantly but I think the glossyness of the lip balm makes them look bigger. So again, my question....Is there any makeup or special lip balm (none glossy) to make lips look smaller but without overdrying and without leaving a glossy wet look ? I know im probably in the minority in this but whatever. Any help is apreciated.

ok....so last year i was on accutane from january until may/june. Then I was acne free and clear until december of 2005. Around January of this year I broke out so badly! I swear I fell into a depression and all and didnt know what to do. So I went to my doctor and she refered me to a derm but my appointment wasnt until march 23rd which just passed. I was desperate and luckily I found information on here about B5 and so I started taking about 5 mg of B5, fish oil pills, and multi vitamin pills...then after a month and a half my acne went away!! So my face is clear right now thanks to the b5, fish oil, and multi vit supplements that I was taking but I dunno if its a temp thing and so I asked my derm doctor to prescribe me accutane and she did!!! I just started taking accutane again and Im so happy and yet dissapointed because I feel like the B5 thing really does work and maybe accutane isnt necessary. But im not taking chances...what do you guys think? Should I just continue taking the supplements I was taking and add accutane to it or should I eliminate one or the other?

I was on accutane in the early half of 2005 and went off it around summertime. I was acne free until christmas time and then all of a sudden my acne came back 10 times worst than before i even went on tane. I want to go see a derm but now i have this bullshit insurance (before i had keiser) and so now I have to wait for them to change my adress which might take a month, and then I have to go see a physician to refer me to a derm. I feel like im back to step one! my skin is scaring like crazy because of the new pimples. i wanna go on accutane again and i cant until i see a derm! Im suppose to study abroad (spain) in the fall and now i dont feel like going anymore since my acne came back. im so depressed right now...i cant even concentrate on school stuff and im a junior in college. The other day a student commited suicide (threw himself off a tall parking structure) because of academic presure and now i feel like doing the same thing. life sucks...doesnt , huh.

I was on accutane last year and I went off it around june (after being 5 months on it). I was clear all the day through the remainer of the year, that is until christmas time. I dont know why exactly but I broke out like crazy! First it was 2 blemishes and I was like ok...just apply some bp and they will go away. Unfortunately that didnt happen as I coninued to break out and by new years my face was a wreck and I was so depressed because accutane was only a temporary solution.
Long story short...it turns out that I broke out really bad because I wasn't moisturizing my face enough and the flakyness on my face just made my acne worst. About 2 weeks ago, I purchased an astringent, some bp 10% gel, and some cetaphil face cream. Basically for 2 weeks I have washed my face at night with a salicylic wash cleanser, then after my skin dries up, I wipe away all the dead skin cells with the astringent and cotton ball...let the astringent dry and then apply some bp gel on my pimples (basically all over my face..lol) . After the bp gel dries, I apply a lot of Cetaphil cream onto my face...Im talking about a bunch so that your face remains greesy througout the night. In the morning I shower, wipe away skin dead skin cells away with astringent/cotton ball, and then apply neutrogena's visibly even spf 15 moisturizer to help fade away red marks and finally I apply some clinique acne solutions concealer on my blemishes and I am set to go for the day. I then repeat the process every day. This has really helped out my skin as Im no longer flaky or dried out. My blemishes have significantly shrunk in the past 2 weeks and im so happy! |
