Hi, I've recently started using mandelic acid ( only twice so far, alternating applications with diacneal before bed ). Should I be using moisturiser afterwards? Just wasn't sure if it would hamper the effects.
I'm not even entirely sure this will work as I suspect I may have the sebaceous filaments that, apparently, never go away. : ( Anyway, I'm gonna persevere and will let you know if it works. I only apply it to the areas I get clogged pores and the under-the-skin-bumps that feel awful and make me wanna reach for the sandpaper! LOL P.S It's the 10% one I'm using every 2nd night. Cheers in advance

Hi Dan,
Would it be possible for you to maybe do an interview with a skin professional, for example, dermatologist, beautician at some point? You could put forward the most commonly asked questions on this forum, a few from each thread topic perhaps? Reason being, there's so many confused people around here, people that just don't know what to do, and there's too much misinformation being banded around as a result. It'd be great to get the same recurring queries answered once and for all, then these responses can be pinned as a reliable source of reference. As it is, a lot of the pinned stuff is by normal people, and although very good and informative, I think if it were to come from a pro, it'd have more credibility. Not meaning to offend, but you know what I mean, these professionals make a living out of dealing with skin probs day in and day out, it's their specialist field. I think to get a guest spot on here from time to time would be really appreciated by all of us, though I'm not sure how easy that'd be in reality. I know you did the Q&A thing with Laura a while back but I missed the boat on that one! lol. I think it'd be preferable to look through and see what the most frequently occuring queries are throughout this forum, rather than individuals just asking random questions on a first come first served basis. That way, more people would benefit from the answers given and the skin pro would get through more pertinant questions, seeing as their time is limited. I'm sure this is something you must've thought of before, but if you could just let me know your current situation regarding this proposal I'd be very grateful. Cheers

I didn't even know that this was still a form of acne! : ( I have lots of these bumps under my skin on and under my chin. I hate the way my skin feels rough when I'm rubbing my cleanser/moisturiser in.
My question is, how do you end up with this in the 1st place? I find it strange how they neither break the surface or go away. I mean, what causes them? I found and read the regime that Dan pinned by Laura ( Face Reality ) and am gonna try that once I get the ingredients in. Has anyone successfully got rid if these annoying, under-the-skin bumps?

Hi, just to let you all know, Snail Gel is on special offer at Holland and Barrett (dunno til when tho) It's usually a hefty £20 but is half price and if you buy their mag (£1.75 and a fab read) there's a coupon in there so you get it for £6.60! Bargain.......if it works!! LOL
Anyhow, got mine yesterday. It's really good for acne scarring and fine lines, apparently, as it's a naturally rich source of collagen amongst other stuff. I did some searching online and I'm hearing all good things. It sounds minging but I'll try anything! If you've tried it let me know........

Hiya,
I just came upon the acnebalm site and wondered if anyone's tried the glycobalm for adult acne? Didn't read everything (it's kinda comprehensive and I don't have the time right now) but it even has a link to a scientific paper from the Uni of Madrid (again, not read it yet) which makes it seem more credible at 1st glance! The product is expensive and the only reason I came upon this is cos I was doing a search for snail gel, this is the principal ingredient in Glycobalm. Well, here in the UK, I can buy snail gel for £10 (dunno wot that is in $s) a jar so I may as well try it. It seems to be good for all sorts, not just acne and scarring. It contains collagen and glycolic acid, amongst other stuff. Has anyone tried snail gel? This seems way more cost effective than getting a product where it's just one of many ingredients. It appears I am fast becoming a product junkie! Gonna have to reign it in, me thinks!! LOL. |
