Ok so I had a pretty bad breakout of Acne last year, was mainly just around my mouth area, back and forehead, so I started taking Lymecycline once a day from about October 2008 - February 2009, which cleared up my Acne pretty well. I stopped taking the pills and I was fine for about 3 months or so, not a single spot, pimple, cyst, nothing, my skin was completely clear.

Then around about May/June 2009 I noticed a lump under my skin around my mouth, which then turned into about 3 or so cysts, which then turned into more and more and I inevitably gave into defeat again and went back on the Lymecycline.

Now 5 months down the line; i've gone from having like 5-6 spots a week, to maybe one a month, and i'm talking about a little one, that doesn't usually even form a head. The last spot I can remember was on the 10th of October when I was at a concert and I didn't wash one night and I think that's probably what caused it.

It's now November. 5 Months since starting treatment and once again my acne has completely gone... but this time i'm scared of coming off the Antibiotics...

What do I do? Just continue taking the treatment for another few months? Has anyone else experienced this? I'm trying to think maybe last time I came off the treatment a bit too soon, it was only 3 months, maybe this time after 6 months i'll be free from this crappy acne for the rest of my life...

Your opinions please?

I've noticed, that when I get a pimple, a day or so after it has healed I get another one in nearly the exact same place but on the opposite side of my face.

It has happened twice this week already, I got one just above literally sitting on top of my right eyebrow, then a day later another one appeared exactly the same place on my left eyebrow.

Then, one on my cheek, then a day later one on my other cheek in the same place.

It's like wherever I get a pimple, there is another one that appears in the exact opposite place on the other side of my face.... It's so weird.

Does anyone else ever get this, or have experienced this before?

I've read that scientists still don't know what "causes" acne, and there are a huge range of factors. Therefore i've been thinking, when they actually find out what causes it, they will surely know how to treat it and cure it for good? Without the use of antibiotics, or topicals. Some new drug that get's to the root of the acne and kills it for good....

Do you think this will ever become a possibility?

In all honesty, I wear mineral makeup as a concealer on my spots. I was just wondering if i'm the only guy who does this? Apparently it's actually good for you as mineral makeup contains Zinc, which promotes healing.

Bash me all you want! I really couldn't care less smile.gif and by the way, i'm not gay either! Muahaha, just wondered if anyone else had done, or does wear makeup?

How bad would you say my acne is? I only have it around the bottom of my mouth, nowhere else really ever gets spots, sometimes the occasional on my top lip and below my chin.

Also what causes this type of acne? Anyone know?
Thanks for the help!

it looks alot worse than that for some reason in real life :S but meh. Please ignore my mirror in the background too, I write messages on it so I am distracted from looking at my face and worrying about it.

Hey, sorry I have been away recently! To answer your question about tea tree oil, It might have something to do with it, but is there anything else that you have changed? Anyhow, I would try and stop using tea tree oil and see what happens.. in my case it didn't help at all :(
