Background About My Skin

cystic acne, hormonal acne and 1 more...

All throughout high school I never really had to deal with acne. Even though my skin type has always been extremely oily, I would only get an occasional pimple. I thought I was so lucky that I would never have to deal with bad acne. My parents said they never had it either so I definitely thought I was in the clear. But no, I couldn't have been more wrong...

picking, elastic band

I have come to the realisation that I can actually stop picking...it sounds obvious I know. Any previous futile attempts were merely wishful thinking, as a way to just convince myself that I was trying not to pick, and I think the reason I failed every time was because although I hoped I could stop picking, I didn't actually believe it. Now I know th...

Can Natural Products Clear Your Skin? Ft. Tea Tree Oil, Honey & Vitamin A + E      Hello Everyone!http://www.acne.org/messageboard//public/style_emoticons/default/surprised.gif  If anyone has been reading my blog thus far, you will know I have been on the regime (drugstore version) for about a month. I can honestly say that benzoyl peroxide is a very effective acne/blemish treatment - at a cost. The dryness, roughness and...

Ending My First Week

bha lotion, closed comedones and 3 more...

I have just finished up my first week. All I can say is: I can't believe how often the texture of my skin fluctuates. One day, it seems like all of the tiny bumps are dissolving, only to find that later that night, my skin is bumpier than ever. I wonder if this is actually happening, or if my mind is just making it seem this way. I believe that this...

I Wish People Understood The Pain Acne Causes.

Posted by jessikur55 in Life as an Acneful College Student, 17 June 2013 · 332 views

People look at me and think that I'm careless and dirty because I have acne. No one knows what I've been through with acne. It's the worst thing that's ever happened to me. If I could, I would get rid of it. I can only dream of having clear skin. I wish guys would notice me. They see my acne, not the person I am. I haven't been in a relationship in two ye...

Ultimate Formula To Pound Your Pimples

Posted by acnedefeater123 in Useful Tips to WIN Your War With Acne , 17 June 2013 · 345 views

Instead of making you read through a long and monotonous blog about how to find the cure to acne, I'm just going to attempt to make this short. ACNE IS NOT CAUSED BY HOW MUCH JUNK YOU PUT IN YOU! Of course it will contribute in making surviving pimples redder and more visible, but IT WILL NOT CAUSE MORE PIMPLES!  Acne is caused by genetics, and, yup....

I havent really had anything major since starting the regimen, just little tiny ones here and there. You probably think thats not so bad and you're right, but it gives you insig...

absorica, accutane

It's day 11 and everything is still going well! I only have one legitimate active pimple (white-head) on my face right now on my right cheek.  And I guess there are a couple tiny ones on my forehead that are somewhere in a stage between dried up pimple and flattened red mark.   Also, something new to me: I've been getting an occasional...

Accutane And Alcohol

So went and had a few drinks last nigjt and have to  say that it did not make me drunk faster or make me sick or give me a headache or make my stomach hurt. I was pretty thirsty today though but I think that is normal. I think it is helping my skin already, all the tiny bumps on my forehead and cheeks seem to be almost gone and I only have a few on my chi...

Anyone have the side effect of being very tired while on Accutane? Holy buckets, I could not get my butt up off the couch today!!! It's beautiful outside but I just can't seem to get myself out there! Pretty sure I'm having symptoms of depression already. But I suffered from depression and anxiety before taking this medicine so it doesn't surprise me. I r...

I had a breakout, but I'm 90% certain it was caused by some new supplements I started taking.  I stopped taking those supplements and the breakout did not get worse and started healing up - all during the part of my cycle when I normally do experience one huge final flare up.  I'll explain more, but first, why did I start with some new supplemen...

regimen, update

So I added some C. Booth tea tree oil toner to my regimen due to my job cutting in my time. I do not have time to mix and dilute my tea tree and peppermint oil. So I bought new and fresh tea tree oil and added extra in the C.Booth toner. The blemishes are gone on my chin and cheeks. I have no more blackheads! I had a horrible whitehead on the underside of...

Went to see my doctor yesterday for the first time since I started Absorica. He was pretty pleased with the results so far (as am I)! He bumped me up to 40mg a daily (two pills) so we'll have to see whether the side effects continue to be minimal, or if they increase.  On a side note, one week left of teaching before the summer!!! I hope it goes...

My Story I started getting acne when I was about 10 or 11. My extremely vain mother started me on treatment at about that time. .  I'm now 22, I've tried a lot of things along the years but nothing seems to work. My acne started out mild to moderate, then when I was about 14 it became severe. I cut out all sugar from my diet and saw no improvement in...
