Copper Peptides

13 January 2012 - 08:18 AM

I searched for threads on this but most of them were quite old so thought I'd start a new one. Is anyone using copper peptides currently or have to good success? I'm thinking of starting to use them along with the retin-a I've been using for some scarring on my chin area. Anyone had experience with them?

Another Log....

Well decided to start one of these for the first time. First came to this site in early 2009 and have read many of these before! I'll start with typical description of my acne history....

Started getting acne when I was about 17. Didn't really know anything about it so pretty much went a year without doing anything to treat it because I just thought it would go away as I got older. Started to get pretty severe when I turned 19 so I started searching on the internet about it and found this site. So I finally made my first trip to a doctor who put me on Doxy and BP. After about three months I had pretty clear skin and acne didn't really bother me anymore. Would still get spots but like I said didn't bother me, no more endless hours staring at my skin in a mirror. I came off Doxy after about 6-7 months and my acne started to return despite still using the BP. So went off to a dermatologist when I turned 20, he wanted to prescribe me accutane straight away but since summer was just beginning we decided to hold off for 3-4 months. Soon as summer was over I went on accutane and while I had a few side effect like eczema etc and the initial breakout gave me the worst acne I ever had, I was clear by about 3 months in and stayed clear till about 8-9 months afterward......then it started to return again. I went back to the dermatologist and he wanted to out me on a second course of accutane straight again, but decided against it and kept my acne well in check for about 2-3 months using BP. Unfortunately that stopped working and I decided to try Retin-A for the first time, and here we are now!

I'm going to give Retin-A a good 6 months and see what happens. If there isn't good improvement then I will most likely opt for a second course of accutane. But I'm hoping by 6 months my acne will be in check and that I can keep using Retin-A for a longer period to helps PIH, scars and general skin tone as well!

I'm on the 0.05% strength and am using Dans AHA+ during the day (don't use them together). I'm coming up 5 weeks into my treatment now and while I thought I was seeing some improvement a few days ago I have recently broken out again. My main problem areas are my jaw line, chin and some of my cheeks. Might post some pictures at a later date, hopefully so there is something to compare to in 6 months....

Little bit of help....

Not sure where the best place was to put this but I looking for some advice. Looking at starting an anti aging regimen, I'm 21 male. Good things to include? I know things like aha, retionals and exfoliating scrubs are supposed to be quite good.
