Holy Moly.

K, So I haven't updated in a gazillion years. Sorry.

I'm pretty sure today is Day 34. eusa_think.gif

Hmmmmm...

Well, I was really sick last week. sad.gif My throat started hurting real bad on Wednesday, and it hurt bad enough to call in sick on Thursday (I never, EVER, call in sick). I spent most of that day sleeping, then my BF took me to the supermarket to get sick necessities and he made me soup and tea and I slept some more. Friday I went to work, but I was still feeling pretty lousy, so they let me go home early. I wound up doing laundry at the laundromat with my BF who had about 5 loads, so, coupled with my 2 loads, we were there, in the 90 degree heat, for a good 2 and a half hours. I think I sweat the sickness out, b/c my throat felt a lot better Friday night, and I was just dealing with a bit of stuffiness. Come Saturday my throat was feeling great, and I thought I had beat the cold/virus, but Sunday morning I woke up and was uber congested. I blew my nose so much that I completely tore apart the skin around my nose. Stupid Accutane making my skin all sensitive. I was foolish and decided to go to the beach and go swimming in the salt water. OWIE. My nose was raw and burning. Duh. eusa_doh.gif It was fun though.

I did my Ipledge stuff and the derm called in the perscription on Friday. I called the pharmacy to make sure they had the 40 mg pills of Amnesteem, and they said that they did, but Ipledge said that I wasn't approved yet or something. This was about 3 hours after I did my part and the derm did their part. Ugh, there's always a problem. I called the derm, we both went on the Ipledge site again, and, magically, the pharmacy then said that everything was set. I dunno. I picked up my pills that night (which was the last night of my first months pack).

I think the upped dosage is having an effect on me. I know that I've been sick and all, but my nose has been bleeding like crazy. I remember when I first started on the 30mg my nose bleed for a week, but then it stopped, so hopefully that will happen again. I have been really sluggish and tired, but I'm sure the virus/cold had a lot to do with that. Today is the first day I can actually breathe through my nose. My skin doesn't seem to be too dry, but I moisturize every morning.

I was foolish and went to the beach on Sunday and got quite the burn. eusa_naughty.gif I had put some sunblock on, but then I went in the water and I guess it wasn't as waterproof as it said. The water was super rough and I was getting tossed by waves and cut up on the sand, no bueno on Accutane with my skin so sensitive. I really felt awful after I got the burn, like I was going to vomit. Seriously, they're not joking when they say that you're super sensitive on this stuff. Now I know.

I have a few bumps on my chin that popped up yesterday. My skin was doing awesome until then, and I'm not sure if it's from the upped dosage, or just from all the sun I got. hmmmm. Super itchy though. Boooo.

I've been getting some pimples on my chest and my arms, which weren't really problem areas to begin with, so I'm wondering if I'm just having a bad reaction to the body lotion I've been using. eusa_think.gif

Jen - Thanks for the well wishes!! Yeah, that dry patch that my doc said was excema is completely healed now. Aquaphor is a miracle ointment.

Tanya - Thanks for the well wishes. Bed was awesome. I highly recommend laying around for a day or two.

Bunny - I bought so much oatmeal the other day! ha! I'm totally going to kick this cholesterol crap in the ass. I might try the Garlic thing as well. I am a mosquito magnet. I swear, I'll get 30 bites and the person standing next to me won't get any. Bogus. I'm just worried about stinking all the time. Thanks for the well wishes!

Corrine - I wish I would have taken your advice about the sunscreen. I'm super all about it now though. I did actually ask my doc about the fish oil and she said that it might help, so I might go out and get some, we'll see.

Claire - haha, you're so right about how sucky it is to have to breathe through your mouth when your lips are so corroded to begin with. Gross. Flash mob twister is super fun!! I'll keep you guys updated on our adventures!!

Ciao for now!

Aww, poor girl - sounds like you had quite a week! You know how bad things supposedly happen in 3's? Well, I think this is true for you, and then some smile.gif Hope you have sunburn, nose-bleed, and cold-free week. Take care, Soozi!

Hey girl,

I despise getting sunburned so I wear spf 30 on my face and arms every day, even when I know the only sun exposure I'll have is driving to and from the office and walking outside at lunch. I'm a dork, I know. Take really good care of that burn, use lots of aloe vera and a good moisturizer like aveeno or eucerin. Also, I've been getting some body breakouts too and that really wasnt a prob for me before either. I wonder if its part of the accutane process?

Take care,

R wink.gif xy

They don't make odorless garlic for nothing!

Sorry about being sick and getting burned. Unfortunetely since tane it just takes longer to get better. It just sucks.

iPLEDGE is such a pain. I'm glad they didn't screw you over too badly. I'm currently dealing with the uptight pains at the moment. I know they mean well, but they seem to cause more problems then good.

Today will be day 36.

One month and almost one week in.

My chest and arms have been breaking out like crazy. I don't know what the deal is. I've never had a problem on my arms, and my chest can get bad every once in a while, but usually only a few at a time. Right now I have about 15 on my chest and they are extremely itchy. I tried to pick at a few and just a clear liquid comes out and then they hurt super bad. I won't try that again. They've been going away pretty quick, but I think it's b/c I've been going swimming in the Ocean a lot and the salt water tends to heal your skin.

I woke up with two whiteheads. One on my chin and one next to my nose. It's been probably over 3 weeks since I got a whitehead on my face, so this concerns me. I got my IB one week into the start of my course when I was on the 30mg. Now I'm worried that since I upped it to 40mg, I'm going to get another breakout...it's almost one week in. Booooo.

I really thought that my skin would be dryer, but I'm still only having to apply moisturizer in the morning, and only to my chin and my upper lip. Nothing else seems to be drying out. I don't get it. I'm still washing my face 3 times a day, so I figured it would be a lot dryer. I dunno.

I'm finally getting over that virus that I had. I'm still super congested, and my nose is still super bloody inside. yuck. I have this lingering cough that I'm sure will go away once the congestion does. Who get's sick during the summer?

I went to my parents house and stole a bunch of garlic from them. I'm going to smell so bad this summer, but if it helps with my cholesterol and the bugs, I really don't care.

I'm considering opening up a gallery in my town. I discussed it with my parents and they told me that they had some money put away for my wedding that I can have (they know I don't want a big wedding, if it ever happens). I'm going to dive into writing up a business plan, and searching for grants this weekend. Wish me luck!!

Tanya - Hahahaha, bad things sure do happen in 3's. I'm ready to be done with that. Bring on the good!

Roxy - Yeah, I was an idiot with that sunburn. I definitely learned my lesson. I actually just received a bunch of sunscreen from my BF's step mother who is a rep for coppertone. I'm siked.

Fire - Thanks for the well wishes. Yeah, my immune system is definitely in slow motion right now. It never takes me this long to kick a bug. Soon though...

Bunny - Is the odorless garlic as effective? Ipledge stinks pigs.

jbern - Yeah, my blotchiness is ridiculous looking. I've never been this white in summertime. haha.

Wait. Did I tell you guys about my BF's sleepwalking problem? hahah...This is a good one.

So Saturday night a bunch of us went out to a party and proceeded to have a bit to drink. We came back to my apartment to go to sleep. I had my bro and his friend on our couches, my friend Kate on the living room floor, and my roomie was in her room with her man. My BF and I retired to my room, and went to bed. My room is off of the livingroom, so you have to walk through the livingroom to get to any other part of my apartment. There's the set up...

So I wake up the next morning and I overhear my BF and my roomie and her man laughing and I hear my BF say "how are we going to keep this from Suzy". I'm like "keep what from Suzy?" They didn't really have to say anything, I knew exactly what happened.

Turns out, my BF (who sleeps nude) got up in the middle of the night, sleep walked out of my room, through the apartment, into my roomies room and attempted to get into bed with her and her man. hahaha. Now, I know he sleep walks, especially when he's drunk, and I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS wake up when he get's up, even if he's awake and just going to the bathroom, I ALWAYS wake up b/c I'm nervous he's going to wind up in the middle of the street with no clothes on. Well, I guess I was pretty drunk that night, b/c not only did I not wake up when he climbed over me (my bed is agains the wall and I was sleeping on the outside) to get up, but I didn't wake up when he came back to bed either. Oh, did I mention I have a twin size bed? We're grown adults. How could I not wake up when he got back in bed? Madness.

I'm just glad that nobody in the livingroom woke up. My poor roomie. Good thing they're super understanding people and totally joked it off. haha. How embarassing, right? That's really only the beginning of the shenanigans that go down at my apartment. We're nutzo.

Cheers.

Sooz, I love your crazy stories!!! Maybe you'll have to put a padlock on the door so your boy can't take anymore walks in the buff...or make him wear some pj's!

Aww, sounds like you're going through a bit of an IB. Hopefully, it'll be a little baby IB and will disappear right away (keeping my fingers crossed for you).

That's very cool about starting a gallery! Actually, I'm amazed that you have the energy to put together a business plan. 'Tane is making me so tired and it's like my brain is turning to mush. Oh well, the weekend's almost here - I can spend two days vegging.

Hope you're feeling better! smile.gif

Odorless garlic.... just as good without that galic-y smell. I actually think I acidently got the regular kind and no one has said I smell like it. I hope people aren't just being polite. I'd like to know if I smell like it. Hmmmmm eusa_think.gif

That's hilarious about your boyfriend. Well at least he stayed in the apartment.

The tane might be making your cold last longer. I've been having a sore throat that won't totally go away for the longest time. I hope it goes away soon. You might want to try Mucinex (I think that's how you spell it). It's kinda expensive but it's supposed to be awesome if you're congested. And trust me, I work at a pharmacy, people get sick in the summer

Hi Soozicee- Funny Story. I am breaking out with the same thing on my chest too. It's also very dry and sensitve. Did the salt water dry you out more? Thanks for your log and updates. It's very helpful.

Jenna
