I haven't updated in almost a month, but here's what's been happening.

I rarely use BP, as my Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion seems to be working wonders. My skin looks absolutely great without make up, it's not dull at all, has a glow to it, it's amazing...and with make up on it looks great as well. I went through a little period when I had so many flakes with the combo of the Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser with Hydroxy Acid I believe, Dan's BP, and the Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion. I stopped exfoliating, but two days with the synthetic brush and my skin was back to normal. I cut out the BP, which I planned to do only for a bit because of the dryness, and I wanted to see if the Alpha Hydrox really did work wonders...and it has. I have used BP occasionally in the past month, but I'm about to order a new bottle just in case. It's always good to have around, and it is better than any BP I've used before.

My skin is a little more "moist" with the Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion, but I'm not oily. However if I forget powder when I put on make up, it looks like crap. Thank God I only did that once though rolleyes.gif

I feel a million times better about myself...even without make up. I had some guys just walk up to my door, ring the doorbell and tell me I was "smokin' hot", lol. I appreciate all those compliments because I don't feel it, and the issues with my skin kind of stopped me.

But I'm doing great and so is my skin. However, my make up is a bit drying for me, so I may switch to an "age defying" make up which usually has good coverage but is moisturizing.

How's everyone else doing?

Ah, so I'm pissed off.

I haven't updated since the third, so it's been a while, but here's what's going on.

The CSR worked wonderfully for me, so no complaints, however my acne went away and I was fine and keeping it up with the use of the Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion. It was like a hallmark card for a while but then it all went to shit. My forehead started to get messed up again, not my cheeks or anything, but still, it was a step backward from being all good. Recently, I think I developed my FIRST ever cyst. It's on my chin, and boy does it hurt. Not horribly, but I can feel that it's there. Makes me feel like shit.

So now, I re-ordered 2 bottles of the CSR gel, the cleanser and I will be making my first derm appointment tomorrow. I hope I can get there soon and then maybe start using Benzamycin again, which worked well when I was younger, or maybe something like Duac. We'll see.

School starts on the 6th, so this sucks, but I'm helping it and that's what matters.

For now, I'm sitting with the Mint Julep Mask on my face, hoping it calms my skin a bit. Tomorrow I plan on steaming, using an egg white mask and drinking tons of water. Maybe I'm just stressed because of school? I also NEED to get a new car this week or I won't be able to get to school. Ugh. I'm just so out of my mind right now.

Anyway, that's about it for now. I will definitely update on how the regimen treats me this time around.

Out of desperation I kept the Mint Julep Mask on overnight, worked well at shrinking the "cyst". I made a huge mistake a few days ago by picking...so it developed a scab. Weirdly enough it was flat when I picked at it, then it blew up into this very red, inflamed area on my chin. What's bad is that not only does it hurt a bit, but if I press under my chin, and then I keep pressing for two more inches, it STILL hurts. Definitely not the most pleasant situation.

So, I made an appt for the derm on Friday, but we'll see what happens as I don't have a car right now and it's all the way across town. Ugh.

And I just ordered my new CSR stuff, so I should start getting better soon.

I think I've learned my lesson. Not only did I re-order Dan's products which I should be getting by the beginning of next week, I also switched back to my Cetaphil cleanser before his comes. It was a huge mistake switching to others. I don't know what I was looking for? I am a product whore, so I like to buy new things, but I think I'm learning that tried and true may be better for some areas, like in skin care for instance. I'm going to give Dan's cleanser a try, and I've read the reviews and people have even said it was better than Cetaphil. I know the BP will work wonders, it did the first time around, but definitely no more lagging. I just wonder if my acne will EVER stop, even if I don't use BP anymore. The one thing I dread is adult acne, I mean, I'm going to be 20 in under 6 months, and maybe people consider 21 an adult, but I don't consider myself a child...and I've been dealing with this for years. Well, if anything, I'm going to talk to my dermatologist about possible ways to keep it from coming back without using BP. I am definitely not a candidate for Accutane, considering I don't have severe acne, but my acne IS persistent, so many a different medication can help a lot. I know nothing about the medication aspect of acne, so I should research it a bit more, and maybe I can just have a general conversation with him about what happens if the only way I can keep my acne at bay is BP. I'm just terrified.

I'm paranoid now because I'm going to be 20...my life, is essentially now beginning. This is the decade I'll be married with kids. I'll probably be married in about 3 or so years, this is just something I'm practically certain of, lol...and kids, I don't know, but I want kids. I'm AFRAID to be pregnant for a few more reasons than it screwing with your body...your acne goes away...so I've heard, but then after you give birth, then what? Do I go back to having acne but worse? I'm telling you...it's things like that, the paranoia will keep me from living a full life. Ugh.

My family has great skin. I get my skin from my mother's side of the family, but I can't say for certain because I don't know my dad's family? I have alabaster, "GREAT" skin, but just with some mild acne. I don't know why everyone tells me I have "great" skin, when I have acne? lol. I don't know what that means. I doubt I get acne from my mom's side, they're all flawless, and they age well, haha, so maybe someone in my dad's family had acne. Maybe his parents did. My dad never did. My mom never did. Ugh. Maybe my hormones are just out of whack. And I started getting acne around the time I got my period, and my mom even commented to me on that day I got it...before I even knew "You're breaking out really badly..." It could be just hormones, but you should think by 20 that phase is over and done with? I don't know. Something to talk to the derm about I guess.

So anyway, before I burn everything in the oven, I'll leave it at this!

Hey again! Sorry about the lack of update's, but I just got my CSR stuff in the mail a few hours ago. I have tried the CSR Cleanser, and wow, I love it. Didn't leave my skin feeling dry like even Cetaphil does. It lathers great, doesn't have any fragrance, it's wonderful. The bottle is huge, just like the gel, which I totally appreciate because everything- cleansers, moisturizers, BP comes in the smallest bottle so you just get a few weeks of use from it. I'm so glad it's come, my skin feels so much more comfortable than it has in a long time, and just for those of you thinking that you should stray from the regimen just because you're clear...don't!

I'm a little discouraged because if my acne keeps coming back when BP is out of the mix, then wow...that's an issue. If anything I'll eventually try to go on an anti-biotic to see if it's possible that it won't come back. I don't believe I'm an Accutane candidate because my acne isn't severe, but it is persistent, and will come back if I don't use BP. I don't want to be doing the regimen into my 40's! lol. I hope this is the decade that it disappears for good, but until then I'm back on the regimen. It worked wonders the first time and I have total faith that it will again.

Dan rules! biggrin.gif

CSR Part 2!

Sunday, September 10, 2006.

One night of BP helped tremendously, but with the recommended dose twice, I woke up with my eyelids and my under eyes so red and so swollen- my eyes were literally swollen shut. I've never had a problem before, but maybe it was just too much too fast and I got it too close to my eyes which caused this reaction. It sucks. I spent all morning, since 5:00, icing it and putting cold compresses on it, but they still look swollen, though much better than before, and they're definitely still red even in spite of make up. I took my make up off and now I'm back to the cold compress...hopefully it'll be normal, or somewhat normal by tomorrow afternoon. No worries though, I should just ease up on the BP a bit, but I think tonight I'll be skipping that step, haha. I'd rather have acne than have my eyes unable to open.

I'm excited to start the regimen again, and I'm trying not to let this eye swelling get to me, lol. I wonder if anyone else ever had that problem? I'm sure if I was allergic, something else other than eye swelling would be happening. I just hope that without acne my make up goes on a lot better. I use L'Oreal Bare Naturale, and I like mineral make up because it doesn't feel heavy and has pretty good coverage, but it goes on so cakey no matter how little I put on. I'm sure the acne just exaggerates the problem since there is actually something there to cover. I should invest in new make up until my acne disappears, but I don't know what. Heard good things about Revlon Color Stay, however I'm afraid about the shade shifting and clogging my pores. Sucks to have acne, there's just too much to worry about.

Anyway, I bought a new mask, no, I know for sure it's not from the mask as I didn't use it all over my face, or near my eyes. It's Freeman's Totally Juicy Grapefruit Peel-Off Masque...completely removed blackheads, it's great. Made the skin look awesome as well since it has Vitamin C in it. I like this better than QHMJM even though that will always be a staple of mine.

I'll be sure to keep updating now. Promise!

I went to the doctor today to get meds for my upper respiratory infection and asked my DR about meds for my acne. She was SO adament about not giving me even Doxyclycline for my mild acne, but said yes, so I got it today. She also prescribed me Differin which I'm afraid of, but Doxycline worked wonders for my brother with moderate acne, so it should work well for what I have. I'm so excited eusa_clap.gif Very cheap with insurance as well, and tomorrow I'll get my Differin.

I'll still do the regimen, and see if it helps, it should with Differin. At least I have two tubes of BP to fall back on if anything.

Wish me luck! biggrin.gif

I got my FIRST *ever* prescription for my acne!! Doxyclycline 100 MG to take twice a day and Differin cream 0.1% to apply at bed time. I'm pretty excited. However, today was a bit complicated...I got diagnosed yesterday with an Upper Respiratory Infection, got meds, and I also picked up my prescription for the Doxycycline. This morning at 7:00 I took my Doxyclycline, at about 7:20 I took my meds for my infection- I was told by the doctor it was okay. Well, about an hour or so later, I was in class and I fainted...ghost white, blood pressure was 90/60, whereas yesterday at the doctor it was 110/80, and I was feeling horrible. I'm NOT sure it was because of the meds, but maybe it was because of the Doxycycline? I highly, highly doubt it, but I was concerned. Anyway, they made me leave school (lol, never had that happen before in college) and I picked up my Differin. I'm nervous to start that, but I wasn't with the Doxy. My brother, who, weirdly enough, didn't have acne until HS, and it was worse than mine has ever been. He's cleared up SO much on Doxy, so I'm sure this will probably work wonders for my mild acne. I'm feeling so great because I've dealt with acne for so long, and I've needed this. My doctor gave me the cream because I was afraid my skin would be too sensitive to handle the gel, and hopefully this, in combination with the Doxy will work wonders for my skin. I have high hopes, as does the doctor, so this is good. She wasn't going to prescribe me antibiotics because my acne really isn't that bad, it's just persistant, but I asked again and she said okay, so I'm excited. It'll be a dream to wake up with a totally clear face biggrin.gif

I'm liking this new regimen. I don't have ANY irritation with the Differin, it does leave my skin a bit oily, but it's nothing I can't deal with. It seems to be working well, even though I just got it. I guess everyone is different, but it does seem to be working. Doing great on the Doxy though it does make me a bit naseous for a while, but I think I need time to adjust to the medicine. The naseuousness did cause a bit of a vomiting fit earlier this morning, but I'm not discouraged. I have a feeling this is going to be great smile.gif I'm very happy.
