I just want to clarify that whomever said that BS will regulate the pH levels of your skin is entirely incorrect. If anything it will mess it up severely; Baking Soda is so alkaline that it is almost BAD for your skin. Most people who swear by it suggest using apple cider vinegar (diluted 1:1) as a toner to help regulate pH levels.
I personally wont touch the stuff, I use sugar as an exfoliant. Just as good but no crazy aftermath done to my dermis.

I agree that using baking soda can't be that GOOD for your skin, but those topicals medications, over the counter exfoliates and etc can't be good either in my opinion. Most things are never GOOD for your skin , but if your stupid and misuse it then sure itt can cause damage. Who here has been using ACV for a LONG time I'm talking over a year time, what is the long term use of using ACV how is anyone sure that using ACV isn't going to cause damage to your skin?
If I was to use BS and ACV what to I use first and what is the time between each do I use them?

Baking Soda may be bad for your skin, but I followed the instructions in the first post and feel that it reduced my red marks dramatically. Seriously guys, try it. I'm kinda afraid to do it again though...

I was thinking about that. Isn't baking soda same as a normal exfoliator. If I use my L'Oreal for men Skin Renovator (exfoliator) will that be the same as using baking soda?
It might not work the same as others. Baking soda changes the PH of cleansers if you mix it with it. It also changes chemically when mixed with water. If mixed with vinegar, it releases Carbon Dioxide and some other substance, H2O(?)

I thought I'd experiment and I made a mask using baking soda, egg white, and lemon juice. I'm going to apply this to my face every morning and leave on for about an hour. I'll report back in a few days to share how it goes.

ok so I noticed when I add the lemon juice to the baking soda it foams up but then goes away and returnes to just a liquid after about a minute...does anyone know if this is a bad thing and will make the baking soda/lemon joice less effective beecause of some chemical reaction when they are combined? Should i just do the baking soda mask by itself and then maybe use the lemon juice as a toner?

Anyone else using baking soda and your red marks seem alot redder than before? I'm not sure if it's helping or not. I've done other processes where it seems like its getting worse (red marks are more noticebale) but when you're off it for a few days, your face becomes less red and the marks are less noticeable. I know that baking soda exfoliates your face and I'm putting it on for an hour everyday but my redmarks are much redder than before. I've only been on it for about a week or so. Am I doing something wrong?
