Hello. So I'm contemplating getting an Intense Pulse Light photorejuvenation series, as well as a microdermabrasion series to treat my acne scars and hyperpigmenation on my back. My nurse recommended 2 week intervals (2 weeks microderm, 2 weeks photo., etc.) I still have active moderate acne on my back. Does anyone know if this is a good idea or not? Will the IPL photo. be effective in treating acne. They wanna charge me 5k. Is it worth the gamble?

I suffer from moderate acne on my back. I've done everything you can possibly imagine, I am now left with microdermabrasion. I started treatment two weeks ago on my back and have 3 more left then I'm going to try this obagi blue peel if results (scars and acne) haven't gone down. It's the second week of treatment and I'm not noticing much of a differnce in pimples but I have noticed the texture of my skin to be smoother.

for 5 treatments I I paid $450 for microderm. I'm not sure about the photolight treatment but I think at one point in time I had that done when I saw my dermatologist and honestly... it did nothing, I think you might have a better chance getting the UV from a tanning bed to kill off the bacteria in your skin than the light.

I'll keep ya posted on the microderm and possibly start taking some weekly pics of my back
