Day 74:[size=2]

Hey all,

Nothing much to say. I really haven't noticed anything different, so far. I'm just happy with the progress I've made as far as I son't get any cysts or zits, I'm a happy man. smile.gif

Hope your progress is going great.

P.S. Where has Sherrie (answerme) been? I miss her. sad.gif She was such a cool person who gave me a lot of support. I miss ya Sherrie!

I don't think the lip thing ends till we are done with Accutane. That has got to be the worst side-effect with the longest duration. By stock in chapsticks and vaseline...lol! biggrin.gif

Hey FG! smile.gif I know what you mean. I have a Vaseline with me wherever I go. It's awesome.

Hey CJ,

How's it going? I hope you've been having great progress. And don't apologise AT ALL. I'm even worse since I rarely post at other logs. I should really start doing so.

Hope you're doing great! P.S. I might visit Germany arouns September. I'm definitely going to Amsterdam/Rotterdam and Paris, but am not sure yet about Germany. I might have to ask you about some tips and travel advice!

Take care!

sup, mark? im glad to hear positive news from you. eusa_angel.gif

ive been too busy workin on our thesis these past few weeks (our deadline's on wednesday). stress, insufficient sleep and junk food cravings are my biggest enemies. i've also missed like 2 visits to my derm already sad.gif and my isotret supply is about to run out (uh-oh).

i hope your derm becomes more sensitive to your feelings though. i feel the same way somehow about mine coz i see that she doesnt seem to care much about causing dents on some areas of my face when she does extractions to me. ive been worrying about scars and my enlarged pores lately...woops, sorry about all this negativity in my post. eusa_silenced.gif

anyway, stay positive ok? your skin's nicely improving. i hope to see myself back on track soon as you are. smile.gif

take care,
sherrie smile.gif

Hey Sherrie! Its nice to finally see ya around. smile.gif

Sorry to hear about how hectic your weeks have been. Have you re-scheduled your appointment to see your derm? I hope you get to visit him/her ASAP and get your isotret..

I'm supposed to go back for another session with my derm end of this week. I'm not looking forward to it AT ALL. I'm having thoughts about going to another derm. I can't stant how negative and unsupportive he is about my feelings. sad.gif

And don't apologize for venting here. I'ts kinda like your log too. tongue.gif Hope you see better progress for your skin soon - and smaller pores! Stay away from those junk food. eusa_naughty.gif

Take care,

hey mark! just got my new box of isotret, and a positive feedback from my derm! biggrin.gif she added this ointment 'steroderm e cream' for the dry/itchy/red areas. my derm also said i might have to stay on this treatment for six months, if that's ok with me. she said she doesnt want her patients to take the drug longer than that, unless the condition is very severe and that the patient's liver can tolerate the drug.

how about you? how's your skin's progress goin? smile.gif i hope it's getting better.

P.S.

how's it all goin, mark? you havent been on the org for a long time.

i'd like to let you know that my derm told me just this morning that this fourth box of isotret will be my last. i was surprised to hear that. i still have two weeks and although i feel a little excitement, i also have worries about maintaining clear skin. my skin's like 98% clear from zits and white heads but i still have some indented scars, hyperpigmented spots, and enlarged pores (i've been researching on the different treatments for these problems). my skin also still gets a little oily/shiny especially when i apply the topicals.

hope to hear from you soon.

hey sherrie! sorry for not being able to respond earlier - my schedule has been INSANE. i hope post more regular updates from now on.

d'you know what? i'm in exactly the same boat as you are. i'm on my last box of isostret as well and i only have 2 weeks left. my derm told that since my face has made tremendous progress that i should stop taking iso. i'm scared of what might happen when i do stop taking the pill - it's almost as though it's a part of my daily life. i've been accustomed to taking it everday that it would feel strange not having to take it.

i'm hesitant as well because i'm paranoid about the acne coming back worse than before. but i guess only time will tell.

i really wish us 2 the best when we get off tane. i'm still going to be updating this log once i'm done taking it and i hope to chart my post tane experience.

take care sherrie!

i was surprised this morning to find my acnetrex box empty. whoah! im done with this treatment finally! i havent seen my derm yet though. biggrin.gif i'll go see her next week probably...to see if my skin stays clear a week without the drug...then she can decide whether or not to put me back on the treatment (i hope not).

im now taking only TeGreen (green tea supplement) and Optima Omega (omega 3) capsules. im planning to buy (or get my parents to buy for me biggrin.gif ) other vitamin and mineral supplements as soon as possible to keep my skin clear.

what about you? you too must be finished with accutane by now. smile.gif keep us updated soon!

good luck!

Hi, My name is Missy and from Louisiana. Did Accutane help the oil in your skin? I have the same problem. 2 hrs after putting on my makeup you can cook eggs on my face. this is the main reason I started using acctane.

please respond,
missy

QUOTE (appletime @ May 6 2006, 12:28 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Day 1:

Hiya,

Well to begin with I've had moderate acne/bacne since I was 14 - I'm turning 20 this September so I've been on this crazy acne experience for a while. I've tried almost everything to treat it (i.e. Mino, Doxy, Retin-A) and some worked but only initially. The acne always came back and when it did, even worse than before.

And so today my dermatologist finally prescribed Accutane for me. To be honest I was initially hesitant to go on it because I know for a fact that it's what people call "the last resort" and how many side effects there are that comes with taking the drug. But looking at the pros and cons of it I know that Accutane is the only drug that can cure my acne. And this time hopefully for good!

My derm has put me on Decutan (20mg pills) which is a generic brand of accutane. He's starting me out with a daily dosage of 40mg.

I don't really know what to expect. I'm scared because I don't think I can handle seeing my acne become worse than it already is. I do hope it controls my oil production. My face manages to look like an oil slick just 2 hours after washing my face. So it's pretty frustrating.

I've just had dinner and I have taken the 2nd pill of the day. So far I haven't experienced any side effects. I feel like I have a slight headache, but nothing too out of the ordinary. I'll update more as I go along, and I will post pictures too.

Wish me luck and I wish you all who is reading this the best with your acne as well.
