I have this massive cyst on my nose and it's really red and bumpy. It's probably the biggest pimple I've ever had and it's sore and shiny and extremely embarrassing.
I have a feeling it's gonna be bumpy and red for at least a week and will probably flatten slightly next week. What's the best method to speed up the process? Should I just stick to BP day/night? It doesn't have a head, so there's no way of squeezing the gunk out.
I feel like shit and I'm so clueless as to what I need to do to get rid of it because I don't usually get cysts.
and why did it have to appear on my nose? Anywhere but there!!! :'( :'(
Someone please help..

Man...I have had the same thing on my nose and I lost count how many times.
It was sooooo embarassing at work with the huge reddish inflammation that is visible from 20-30 feet away.
I have tried cold (with ice) and hot (with hot towel) compress with no luck.
My last big one was 6 weeks ago in the middle of my left cheek and it left behind a big dark spot.
Then about last week, another big bump was forming quickly next to the last nodule/cyst. Apparently it had spread to the nearby skin and was generating a new lession.
Fortunately I found this site which helped tremendously in short time and did a lot more reading on the net.
I did a four-pronged approached which successfully eliminate the newly forming nodule/cyst.
-I used Neutrogena on-the spot acne treatment, as recommended by this site / Dan Kern. I would dab a thick layer at night before I go to sleep and spread an even layer in the morning.
-I learned somewhere that acne is an inflammation not an infection. So frantically I searched for anti-inflammation medication. I came across articles that say green tea has been clinically proven to have anti-inflammatory properties. So I started drinking 3 glasses of green tea everyday since.
-I bought this light emitting device called Lumiport (www.lumiport.com) for $149 after reading a post on this site from someone who bought it. Thankfully it came in two working days.
It emits red and blue lights of certain wavelength which were clinically proven to kill the P.Acnes bacteria and reduce the swelling.
In this particular case, the Lumiport's DermaStyle was the last reinforcement in my fight against nodulecystic acne. I used it for 10 minutes to illuminate the very spot the cyst was forming.
-I also tried to sleep 7-8 hours since I detected the new cyst and drink a lot of water throughout the day and pay attention to my diet (eat more soup/cooked meals and stay away from fried food/meat).
I am not sure which one(s) helped stopped the new cyst but perhaps the stay-on BP can claim the most credit because it is the first armament I used in this case. This time around I declared victory against acne.
After 2-4 days the cyst has completely gone and I could not feel any bump or thickness of skin anymore with my finger.
Good luck with yours!
