ok well with any supplement its just that... a supplement.

you still need to eat healthy etc.

and i dont want to rain on anyones parade but from what i have learnt about spots/acne is that it can take at least 2 weeks after bindge eating for anything to crop up this is why it is so hard to link acne with diet

or is this not true? im going to cut bread out of my diet and see what happens. this is the only thing i can think of that i eat everyday. and yes i get new spots pretty much everyday every other day

Well I don't eat any dairy and have an incredibly healthy diet. I have changed my diet multiple times throughout my struggle with acne. So, in fact I do still eat healthy.

do you eat grains,sugars, vinegars?

I ate a LOT of grains, a little sugar, and some vinegar. I don't think my diet changed at all though compared to the week before my pills ran out and I was almost clear and the week after they ran out and I broke out a lot. But, starting now I am cutting most grains out of my diet.

grains yeah i eat whole meal bread with lots of seeds in it, pumpkin seeds etc, will eat the occasional pasta, how come?

so evasion are you saying the broccoli pills cleared you>?

I'm not really sure if it is entirely the pills that did it. All I know is the days after I stopped taking them I broke out a lot. But, it is almost a week later and my face is making progress back to how it was while on the pills.

Sorry for not being clear about what I meant. I haven't taken any broccoli pills since I ran out. My face is doing a little better but no where near what it was like on the broccoli pills. I am going to cut out a lot of grains and a lot of soy if I can to see where that takes me. If I see no dramatic change I will get some more broccoli pills I guess. Actually, I will probably try niacin and not go back to broccoli pills. I hate temporary "cures."

I've tried a vegan diet but still broke out. Now I'm trying a more paleo approach but I splurged a couple days ago after being vegan for so long I ate a couple chocolate brownies so I'm going to give it a while before I even consider results.

thats the thing. i body build and so no dairy is hard for me. i enjoyed my cheese!

i lost weight and people noticed at work, they said i looked ill. they even given me time off work so i can get better.

tbh i think it all went down hill after stopping the anti biotics.

well i hope i am on the mend and i am going to do everything i can to get my gut working and i am going for the kill on the inside out approach.

as in , look after the inside and the body reflects it on the outside so to speak.

when i look back at old photos, i had great skin! and i never used all these topicals. then when i got an outbreak probably drink related i went mad!

anyway yes sticking with a hard diet is well... hard.

and the temptations are far to strong

I cut my dairy intake to about 5% (before my vegan diet). 100% being when I was younger I would eat cereal with milk and put cheese on anything I could. I sometimes ate butter plain too, not very much though only a little nibble. Recently (with my vegan diet) I ate no dairy. My vegan diet didn't clear me as much as I would have liked and i was always so tired. I ate a piece of pizza and the aforementioned brownies (a couple days after coming off my vegan diet) and got no cysts like dairy used to give me. Maybe I can tolerate it now? Does dairy give you cysts or what? You may not have to cut it out. Also, think about what you are missing when you cut out dairy, is it the calcium or what? You should find a way to replace it in your diet instead of removing it.

To vouch for broccoli pills I have a little story..
I had been using acne.org regimen for a few weeks and even though progress was being shown the moisturizer still stung my face, and I didn't like having to lather it on my face.
I decided to stop doing it for a month and just rinse my face with water twice a day to see how that would work... It was terrible!
My skin was covered in acne, probably 12-16 active spots at any given time, I hated it! I started doing a little looking around.
I Found this thread and figured why not try it, and ordered a bottle of what OP has been linking...
I'm now on day 20 of taking 2 pills a day.. My face is so clear! I only have a few spots right now (just looked, two, and they don't even look bad). A warning, for the first week my active spots actually looked worse, don't be discouraged by this as I'm almost completely clear on day 20..

tl;dr acne.org regimen was kind of working but I hated lathering it on my face so I started taking 2 broccoli pills a day, at first it made things worse but then after about a week I started clearing up well.

In a few weeks, I'll be with visiting friends and I know I'll probably eat some of my trigger foods because I won't have access to my own kitchen/supply of food. So I'd like to buy some broccoli pills to see they can help me get through that time. Where do you buy them? What brand?

Does anyone know where to get these pills in Australia? I've checked around some health food shops in my area and nothing... not sure where to look online either, nothing comes up when I search.

I just read all 12 pages of this thread. It appears that Broccoli pills had the same effect that DIM had? They cleared the skin for several weeks and then the stopped working? Is there anyone around to confirm or deny this? Is anyone taking broccoli pills 2 years later? tongue.gif

I'd like to know this too!

Any further updates? Debating whether to try broccoli pills or just order some DIM online...

Ive been taking broccoli pills since the beginning of this thread, so its been a while. My initial response was it made my complexion alot smoother which i liked but wasnt sure if it was helping my acne. After a while from taking this, i started reducing the amount to 1 a day ( i started taking 2 a day), then i noticed I would get acne but not sure if its because of this. But still to this day i take 2 times a day.

I've been taking this for a week or so. I have endometriosis and broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables has the effect of lowering estrogen, which contributes to endo and can cause acne -- especially mid-cycle. So, we'll see if this helps my endo. I will know within two weeks. I am clear so far, but just got off of 'tane two months ago. I am probably going back on 'tane, because I didn't reach my cumulative dose, so I am worried about that, even though I wanted to stop early, because I didn't want to be on it for the holidays.

I have to say, I was starting to have that pain and it's gone away even though it should be intensifying this week....

Anyway, we'll see. I think it's worth a try if you have endometriosis and/or mid-cycle breakouts. Don't know if this would work for men, unless it somehow lowers androgens too.

btw, I am on broccomaxx. 2 a day.

Just to let you know, the bloccoli pills only had an "effect" on acne for about 3-6 weeks. That means they clear your skin completely around week three for a few days and then the results start dissipating.
