I just thought bringing this thread up would be a good idea in the light of the DIM craze.

All that I have to say is that Broccolli in the form of BroccoMax (broccolli sprout extract) really helps my skin on my face but not as much on my body. I now take 500mg of BroccoMax twice a day (for face) and 2 grams of Taurine twice a day (for face and everywhere else) and my skin is 98% clear unless I eat a ton of sugar then forgetaboutit. I also take a balanced 1 a day multi for the vitamin B.

I give credit and thanks to all of the people that found these solutions in the first place eusa_dance.gif

I just came across this thread. I read the whole thing and found that most people found success with these brocolli pills. Im going to make sure to buy some as soon as possible. Even if they dont work forever, I would love to be clear for my prom and graduation. I hope these work. eusa_dance.gif

Maybe the reason broccoli pills work for some of us is that they contain dim

I want to say that I have been taking DIM and it is a godsend. Even though most people are just talking about broccoli pills on this thread, DIM contains broccoli, cabbage, and spinach powder. Also the people who are trying to just eat a lot of broccoli probably wont see the same results since they are most likely steaming their broccoli (removes nutrients) and they would have to eat a shit ton of broccoli to equal the broccoli content in DIM or broccoli pills. I don't think Dan is gonna be too happy when the new regimen becomes 1) take broccoli pills or DIM 2) do whatever the hell you wanna do.

Hmmm sounds like many people had good results with these brocolli pills. I'm thinking about trying it as well.

Hey, why not add another pill to the handful I take every morning? eusa_dance.gif

I've been reading up on the brocco pills in this forum and elsewhere on the net and went ahead and tried them. My experience so far is as follows:

I decided on the BroccoMax pills by Jarrow, 2 a day dosage morning and evening. These were difficult to find at B&M stores but I called around and finally found some at Sun Harvest. In the mean time I ate organic broccosprouts from whole foods. They noted the SGS on the package proudly at 36 mg per ounce. Not too bad I thought.

Well I should've noticed something off about the experience, eating an ounce of sprouts in the morning and night was no easy task. I ended up eating about an once and a half total everyday instead of 2, and I noticed the uneasy feeling always at night after the second helping. Thought it might just be so many sprouts, I had to get used to it.

Then I find the Brocco Pills, start them up, one in the Am and one in the Pm I thought. The Am wasn't too bad, it was the Pm pill that threw me. For some reason I had this tired dizzy feeling, as if I had been given a sedative but not enough to knock me out before a surgery. Scary stuff. I could imagine my thyroid going crazy, HYPOthyroidism symptoms eusa_think.gif , probably made it all worse. I ended up eating some Iodized salt and started feeling better about 10 minutes later.

Now, maybe it was in my head, maybe not. I know I'm not taking two again in one day, it can't be healthy at least for me. I also know it will be a while before I consider taking even one a day.

In the end I had eaten sprouts for 3 days; 1 and a half ounces a day, and broccomax for one day; two pills. This concluded my little experience and I've decided now to focus on other dietary changes before looking at the max again.

The ONE posative, I noticed the last two days that my facial acne was heeling. So much that I didn't worry about it and barely used any bp. I currently use about a half pea sized amount only on my T zone, barely means I used about a quarter that at the very top of my forehead only. Wasn't long enough to be conclusive at all but It could've been a real posative development.

I read all these posts about people taking 6 of this, 2 of that ect. It's easy to get lost in it, but these regimins should be started at the smallest amounts first.

ok well with any supplement its just that... a supplement.

you still need to eat healthy etc.

and i dont want to rain on anyones parade but from what i have learnt about spots/acne is that it can take at least 2 weeks after bindge eating for anything to crop up this is why it is so hard to link acne with diet

or is this not true? im going to cut bread out of my diet and see what happens. this is the only thing i can think of that i eat everyday. and yes i get new spots pretty much everyday every other day

Well I don't eat any dairy and have an incredibly healthy diet. I have changed my diet multiple times throughout my struggle with acne. So, in fact I do still eat healthy.
