I'm assuming you mean some type of B-Vitamin? In that case, yes I am still taking some B-6 supplements, but that's it. I apologize if that's not what you mean by B Complex.

I think it has to do with vegetables helping to clean out your system perhaps something specifically found in brocolli itself that is concentrated at higher levels in the pills.

Hey everybody!

Well after going through all sorts of stuff, I ended up going with the BroccoMax in the end. I made the realisation that it was my smoking habit that caused this stuff to be less affective in the first place. I actually started taking them again in about November and been on a 2 a day regemine ever since. Just thought I come back here to see where I've been and were I'm going. The best dose of BroccoMax that worked for me was 2 caps 2 times a day (4 a day). I noticed that also if you start to break out skip a dose and see if that helps. I now no longer smoke (almost 5 months!) and now the Broccomax works great now! Well I hope that there are still some others out there that are still using broccolli pills for their skin clearing properties and would like to share how they are doing. By the way my face is beautiful from the broccomax but my body could still use some hope.

wow this sounds like something I should try, a couple of questions though Ok so what I have gathered here is that iodine is bad for you? Maybe that is my problem I dunno, but what foods have iodine in it, so I can try and stay clear of it to see if that's my problem.

Also I'm now taking Fish Oil pills how is the broccoli pills going to effect the fish oil if there is any effect, and is there any particular brand I should get?

I want to get in on some of this broccli action..

I bought WOW brand broccli extract pills 850 MG each from bodybuilding.com, do you think their okay? I use their Omega 3 so I figured I might as well stick with the brand.

Also I noticed on the bottle it said keep refrigretaed to keep potency, so I suggest you keep yours in the fridge as well even if it doesnt say so.

I tried this for about 2 weeks, using Broccolive (about 5 pills). With no other vitamins.
I noticed no difference.

I was taking a look at another acne forum and apparently somebody else also used
broccoli pills to cure their acne.

this link:
http://www.soulcysters.net/my-acne-cured-173733/

However, the person claimed that the pills helped absorb iodine.

There's a lot of discussion on the boards with acne-iodine relations,
so I thought maybe somebody could further verify and discuss this and how broccoli pills fits into the picture.

My suspicion is that this broccomax is so far as acne is concerned, just a big dollop of beta carotene (there's a lot of beta carotene in brocolli!) Beta carotene gets converted in the body into Retinol (similar to Retin A/Accutane).

If so, to make it work optimally you should take the caps with a fatty meal (beta carotene is fat soluble), ensure your zinc level is reasonable (e.g. take pills) and make sure you have enough vitamin C (don't smoke!) and dietary protein all seem to be involved in the enzyme to covert it to retinol.

The other thing is, if it is beta carotene, then eating a lot of (well cooked) carrots or something would probably work just as well. You need to cook them enough that the cell wall breaks down, otherwise you won't be able to absorb it, and again, cook/eat them with fat.

The other thing is, broccoli tabs/carrots might well take a good few weeks to kick- the beta carotene levels would need to come up, and even accutane takes 4 months, but accutane is much more powerful- huge levels of retinoids.

I've been doing most of this for a few weeks, and it's looking promising at the moment, but it's too early to say for sure.

Thing is, how long have you been doing that for, are you cooking it long enough (water needs to go green), and are you eating it with oil (oil raises the absorption by a factor of many).

The thing is, humans used to live as hunter gatherers, we used to be surrounded by plants and trees, and the trees contain birds, which lay eggs. And we lived like that for more than a million years.

I think the total vitamin A intake (particularly beta carotene, but also some in retinoid form from eggs for example) was typically much higher than today, and acne-like symptoms might be an expected outcome of long-term marginal beta carotene status.

The research I've seen says that people newly diagnosed with acne have low beta carotene levels.

I'm hoping taking all this isn't too much for my system... eusa_eh.gif
Well then is this still the good choice to go with?

Your body can handle alot more then that... you have no worries.
I advise you increase your fibre intake and stay with plain foods (without artifical crap in) and see how it goes.
