It works... but I don't know why.

My acne isn't really bad. A few pimples every now and then. I want to stop that entirely and speed up recovery of pitted/rolled scars. I have a some on my chest, temples, and some minor ones on my cheeks.
I just started looking into ways to speed up recovery. I did glycolic acid for blemished scars and that fixed that a couple months ago. I've just started looking into it. Broccoli seems like a good start, if not for general health if nothing else.

I just picked up some vitaminshoppe to try out, so I'm going with the healthy moderation appoach.

I wonder if anyone else is still having good results with the Vitamin Shoppe brand of broccoli?
I am seriously considering switching back to it because of the news of too much sulforaphane could be harmful. I beleive that adult broccoli has enough fiber even in capsule form (water removed as the plant is almost 90% water) to slow down the amount of sulforaphane absorbed by the body. Still need to find out what cells are damaged in the body as a result of the sulforaphane.
Remember in one of my posts that the Broccomax may be as much as 150 time more powerful that the Vitamin Shoppe brand. In the article that I just posted it said that 42 times the normal amount of sulforaphane can prove toxic. This is starting to suck and this crap really worked well for me!

so to much broccoli is bad for you? MAYBE in ULTRA high amounts but they may just be promoting interest in the synthetic version of the drug.
so they can patent and prescribe it. and at least in the US, charge an arm and a leg for it.
i eat alot of fruits and veggies there is NO way this could be bad for me.
although I am open to the possibility, i am VERY skeptical of this claim.
from the article:
For instance, his test-tube studies suggest that sulforaphane can prove toxic to cells if administered in concentrations 42 times higher than those needed to inhibit cancer development.
you would have to know what amounts were used to prevent cancer to even begin to understand what a toxic amount is. id imagine it would have to be pretty high.
i just got my broccomax pills today and on the back of the bottle it says one Broccomax capsule is at least 20 times more potent then broccoli, 30 mg of sulfurophane per capsule.

I find it hard to believe that this is true at all.

Yeah that's true about how they do not explain how high a dose they are talking about. Since they were testing in a test tube, the concentrations could be more toxic because the samples were smaller. Even using it on lab rats, this is not plausible because we are many times bigger that a rat so the dose would have to be much higher to affect us. I even think that the effectiveness of the Broccomax is dependant on body weight. I am about 6'5 190Ibs so I figure I need 3 capsules a day just by how my skin clears at that dose. If someone finds a article that states the toxic dose please post it as I refuse to give up on this stuff just yet. Those drug makers could of just stated that to scare people into buying their fake stuff! Most bottles of broccoli say that it is non-toxic. Maybe they isolated the chemical which in turn made it toxic?

Hell, I'm a hypocrite too as I'm using Universal Animal Pak, which has 0.5 grams of Vitamin C per pak.

None of these findings had been tested in people, however, until the Yanaka-led team added broccoli sprouts (the plant at its youngest and most sulforaphane-rich, just two or three days old) to the diet of 20 individuals infected with H. pylori. Another group of 20 infected with the bacterium received alfalfa spouts instead of broccoli sprouts. Each received 100 grams of fresh sprouts daily for two months.
"We wanted to test alfalfa spouts together with broccoli sprouts," Yanaka explained, "because the chemical constituents of the two plants are almost identical."
However, the way in which they differ is significant. Broccoli sprouts contain 250 milligrams of sulforaphane glucosinolate per 100 grams per serving, whereas alfalfa sprouts contain neither sulforaphane nor sulforaphane glucosinolate.
----
As you can see, in this study, the people were given 250 MG of sulforaphane each day, the equivalent of more than 8 Broccomax pills. If it was toxic at that level (for TWO months) then they obviously wouldn't have administered so much...

This should put all Broccomax users' minds at ease:

Good point! Thanks for finding this info!

Vit C 500 mg
Vit E 400 IU
Vit B5 500 mg
Milk Thistle 1000 mg
Zinc 50 mg
But then about a month ago i added this broccoli pill. But two weeks into the broccoli pill diet I figured maybe I can just take Vit C and E along with these broccoli pills to still maintain my face, but what i found is that my face started to feel more oily and worse as i slowly stopped using these other vitamins. But now I'm taking all the vitamins i used to take plus this broccoli pill, and my face feels and looks great again. So I'm thinking maybe for some people who hasn't had success with just broccoli pills, might want to try other vitamins with it.

please note that ive been eating alot of fruit over the past two weeks and this is the only reason im breaking out. i think ive just found the very last culprit in my diet and that is ANYTHING sweet even fruit has to go. either that or accutane. im gonna stick with the diet route for perhaps one more month. I do not want to take accutane, id rather go without my sweets then to put my body through hell.
