Has anyone here tried clean & clears active clear soothing moisturiser? Its from Johnson & Johnson. Its oil-free but it tends to make me break out more I think. Does anyone here who has tried it had good results? It feels great on the skin, nice and soft so I dont know if im being paranoid that its making me break out...Whats ur views?

If it is made by clean and clear, then it most likely has salicylic acid in it. Most if not all of their moisturizers seem to have it in them. Using SA while on the regimen is a no/no, but if you've been on it for a while, you could probably experiment and see if it works for you. I have a moisturizer from clean and clear, and it doesn't really moisturize well, if at all. It does feel nice and cold and soothing when I put in on though...

On the other hand, I went and bought 2 bottles of Eucerin Skin Renewal a few weeks ago from Amazon. I hadn't ever used it until then, and I HATE it so far. I'm going to keep using it to see if anything good happens, but if things stay the way they have been, I'll probably be giving it away here in a month or 2. Stay tuned for that...

I think that Neutrogena Healthy Skin face lotion (spf 15) is a great moisturizer. After about a month of using the BP gel, I found that I really needed the AHA to keep the flakes away. Yes, it stings, but it's a small price to pay to get rid of the excessive dryness the BP caused. My results have been great. Clear skin AND no flakes?! Unbelievable!

I think that Neutrogena Healthy Skin face lotion (spf 15) is a great moisturizer. After about a month of using the BP gel, I found that I really needed the AHA to keep the flakes away. Yes, it stings, but it's a small price to pay to get rid of the excessive dryness the BP caused. My results have been great. Clear skin AND no flakes?! Unbelievable!

weird, i use that too but if i use it twice a day my face just flakes like crazy.

If everyone is so concerned about the strong scent of the Neutrogena Healthy Skin lotion, well how about trying the Neotrogena Healthy Skin for Sensitive Skin version??? This doesnt contain any fragrance. (although I dont think it contains SP15 though). Anyone tried this??????

cause I used to use the eucerin skin renewal lotion throughout those 4 months, but it left my face shiny
then I tried the Olay complete plus for two whole days... it left my skin very dry, I could hardly smile
now I'm on my first day of using the Neutrogena Healthy skin face lotion spf15, it stings a little and my face is a little dry and a little red, but at least the shine is gone right?

yeah man ive used the eucerin dry skin relief face cream, it's pretty good. for some reason though it worked excellent at first and then after a month it doesnt seem to moisturize nearly as well as it used to, maybe thats just me though.

i bought some today at duane reade (which might be specific to the ny area) but ive seen it in walgreens, so im imagining that you could most likely find in at walgreens/cvs/rite aid, ect that you frequent.


*if anyone else is near a duane reade they are having a 15% off sale on all neutrogena facial care products this week which is why i actually decided to buy it today

Well if your willing to import from the UK Eucerin dry skin relief face cream with 5% urea if great and contain AHA, I don't think theres any plans to discontinue it any time soon either. Its available at www.boots.com I think its avilable in Canada too so maybe it would be cheaper to import from there

I bought that stuff. Besides being super expensive (like $20 for a tiny bottle), it kind of flaked/"balled up" with the BP, made all this white crap residue on my face and didn't moisturize all that well.

I'm not a huge fan of neutrogina, I don't see any results. St. Ives Apricot Scrub now that gets the job done, it's more clutch than D-Wade.

Oo, my first post on this forum! Dan, any word yet on the Kiss My Face? I just discovered their oil free AHA product in an internet search (about five minutes ago) and was all set to run out to my local Whole Foods tomorrow! I suppose they might not carry it if you had such trouble finding it. But it seems like a fairly inexpensive option (compared to Neutrogena or Neoteric) with the added bonus of not being tested on animals!

Chemists are able to figure out the composition of products fairly easily. And it must not be illegal or else CVS and Eckerds would be out of business with all their little knock off products!

Hey, I just got the oil-free AHA Kiss My Face moisturizer at the local Vitamin Shoppe. I'll try it out tonight and tell you how it feels

Well, I used it and it does have some problems. If I were to recommend it at all, I would only recommend it for night time.

It's very thick and doesn't go on too smoothly. It's probably too heavy for morning application.
It left kind of a white residue which is unsightly if you're not wearing makeup!
After it started to dry, either the lotion or the combo of lotion and BP started to rub into flakes all over the place.

So, for day time it's not a good choice! If you're not wearing any makeup it would be kind of unsightly, and if you were going to put on makeup it makes for a poor base! It might be ok just for nighttime, but I doubt it's the best option. I don't mind the drawbacks as long as it keeps my skin smooth and doesn't make me break out more! We'll see how it stands up longterm.

Well, I've been using this Kiss My Face and my face is soo incredibly dry and flaky... I think my whole skin routine at the moment is screwed up Anyway, I finally checked out Paula Begoun's book, and here's what she had to say about the Kiss My FAce Oil-Free Aloe AHA moisturizer.

"Alpha + Oil Free Moisturizer 5% Alpha Hydroxy Acid Fragrance Free is indeed oil free, but it does contain other ingredients such as isopropyl palmitate and emulsifying wax that can be a problem for oily skin. While this product contains a concoction of AHAs, it would be far better if it only contained lactic acid and/or glycolic acid (they perform the best for skin). Regardless, the pH of this product isn't low enough to make it an effective exfoliant, though this would be a good moisturizer for dry skin. And this product is highly fragranced!"

So- bad for blemished, oily skin, not an effective exfoliator, and full of irritating fragrance! All in all, sounds completely wrong for the regimen and I'm out 10 bucks Dammit, why couldn't I have gotten to the library sooner!

Has anyone tried any of the St. Ives AHA products? I just started using the regimen, but I've been using the Apricot Scrub for years. In my years of dealing with acne, I always thought the scrub gave me good results even though it wasn't enough. However I've noticed that the Apricot Radiance line contains Alpha Hydroxy and the gentle microbeads to help with exfoliation. It's advertised as an age-defying product, but wouldn't it also work for our purposes?

There is also the Peel-off Hydroxy Mask with Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Complex. St. Ives Renew and Firm seems very similar to the Apricot Radiance product, but it seems it has the regular exfoliants as opposed to the gentler microbeads.

Sorry for what seems like a St. Ives ad, but I was wondering if a gentle cleanser with AHA could be just as effective as a moisturizer with AHA. It might help everyone for now on what seems like a challenging search for a decent moisturizer with AHA, and all that might be necessary is an AHA cleanser with your favorite regular moisturizer. I'm curious what everyone has to say about this.
