I used the erythromycin benzoyl solution and it didn't work. It just left a horrible smell and a greasy complexion.

oh. My dermatologist prescribed it for me, it seems like its working, not like how i want it to though but i guess i have to wait and see. With the clear skin regimen do i cleans, use erythromycin benzoyl gel, and then put the moisturizer over that? is it a must to use a moisturizer if i'm not going out in public?

I used this years ago and, at the time, found it to be superior to just regular bp, but it wasn't a clear all for me. But may be a perfect solution for some people.
Two things:
If the Pharmacist doesn't take his/her time blending it, it won't be smooth and creamy but gritty which not only makes coverage not as easy but it seemed less effective. I sometimes wondered if it was because of this lack proper blending...
The other thing was that it had to be kept refridgerated, which could be inconvenient if you went on a trip because you'd either risk ruining the medicine or having to use something else temporarily.
Is it the same deal now?

Hi, im not an adult but before my acutane i was using it. It helped a bit but no major improvements. It feels very weird thats why im happy it stopped. Also, it smells a bit. I tried a different kind but it was like liquid and burned my back! I yelled and cursed and screamed and cried.

It's still exactly the same now, I hate the gritty look that it has. The top looks smooth and once you get to the middle it's gritty. I hope that doesn't make it less effective. I guess it probably does work, you just have to be consistent when using it. I know they say not irritating your face will lessen your breakouts, but the erythromycin benzoyl get itches like hell. How do i get it to stop? and can i itch it?
