Hi, I've been taking Roaccutane for nine days now, after failing with Minocin and Doxycycline.

I am a 26 year old Irish male and have suffered acne for 12 years. Took Minocin as a teenager and it seemed to be working but parents made me stop taking it after some BS scare stories in the paper.

Went travelling last year and began to take Doxy. It worked really well but after some months the acne returned. In January it got very bad and I went to the Dermatologist and began taking Doxy again. While it helped it didn't work completely, so on to Roaccutane.

So far it's having a slight effect on the acne, no dramatic improvement but that's to be expected.Skin is quite dry, my face peels like I have had sunburn but it's not too bad. Lips are quite dry as well but not too bad. Am using both moisturiser and lip balm. No sign of any mood changes. Sometimes I'm a little bit tired, but nothing too dramatic.

Very hopeful that this will finally work and sorry I didn't start years ago. My advise to anyone with acne would be to get help today, don't put it off at all, it can have a huge effect on your life.
