I have many large pores on my nose. They are clogged with little pricks that, when I squeeze my nose, multiple pricks come out. I don't know what these are called but they are very bothersome. When I squeeze my nose to get these pricks out, sometimes the pores are red because I squeezed too hard but still left pricks in the pores. If I do clear up these pores using the squeezing method or pore strips, then these pricks refill my pores after a couple of days. Right now, I am using a daily facial cleanser ("Purpose") and I am halfway through the bottle with no considerable results. Is there any product(s) that can help me?

Exfoliate with a cloth facial scrub and some cleanser with salicylic acid.

I use to have the same deal. Really, just life revolved around squeezing those pus snakes out. If I was alone in front of a mirror, I would give my nose a little squeeze. Accutane got rid of them, I don't know if they'll come back. *shurgs* I hope not.
Oh, while squeezing "may" enlarge your pores, it probably won't be that much. Seriously, I spent 8 years (give or take) squeezing multiple times a day. Only ill results are three scars from popping cyst-like zits. However, I did find that if a large blocked pore wasn't "squeezed" properly out, it was turn into a bigger zit within a day or two.

I am not familiar with exfoliation. Is it just scrubbing the face? I have a cleanser with 2% salicylic acid but can you recommend a good cloth facial scrub? Thanks again.

Try a Beta Hydroxy (Salicylic Acid) Treatment. I'm using one right now from Skin Care Solutions and its really helped clear up the clogged pores on my nose. From what I've read, I think its better to use a treatment than a face wash with salicylic acid b/c using a face wash just makes it go down the drain. Hope this helps!

This is just a random fact, but a member here linked a while back to some photos of those little pus snakes that came out a guy's nose, which were tested for composition and it was found to be entirely comprised of p.acnes. bacteria. Labgirl might know more about it...I wasn't sure if they concluded the bacteria were alive or dead.

Maybe you can clear up what the name these are. I searched all over for blackheads but I do not think I have them. They are as you describe it, "pus snakes" that I squeeze out of my pores. Is there a medical term for this? I read your article and the exfoliation would be a little harsh for me since I have sensitive skin. Do you recommend anything else? Thanks.
