yo accutane peoples.

today is my first day of Roaccutane treatment, so ill give here some info how im doing if anybodys interested. im soo happy with that, and scared also, a bit.

info:

1)acne characteristics - mild - moderate acne, situated in my T-zone, mostly in the forehead, chin and upper lip. no acne on nose and cheeks. oily t-zone, especially my forehead.

2)acne history - i had single pimples since age 14, but there were realy nothing. it boomed at age 19, still at the worst days it couldnt be called pure moderate acne. right now i have 21 years, so only 2 years spent battling with pimples. i used differin, zineryt (erytromycin),azelaic acid, benzoyl perioxide, 101e, diet changes, vitamin B5, and probably some other stuff.

3)dosage - at the moment im at 20mg a day. it will be upped in 2-4 weeks, it depends how i will respond to the medicine.

4)supliments - vitamin C, vitamin E, sylimarin aka milk thistle in us, methiovit (it is metionin, cholin[sorry, i dont know the names in eng], and vitamins from B-group) omega-3

DAY 1

Good luck! I will be reading your log. It seems that time flies while on this medication. Hopefully your initial breakout (if any) won't be bad. Mine was moderate. I am sure you'll love this treatment and this board as well.

Keep posting!

Just wanted to say good luck!!! This is the best drug EVER! As far as the initial breakout, its not the worst thing in the world. Just think about it like this, the initial breakout is Accutane "purging" all the nasty stuff thats already under there, so its all part of the healing and clearing process, and its over before yoiu know it (although, they still pop up here and there nowadays, but Im only 2 months in so Im sure it will be all clear in the next few months). Anyway, keep your chin up! Beautiful skin is on its way!!!! YAY!

While others might not agree with me, I still tan and its just fine. Its up to you. It WILL make you more sensitive to UV light, but if you tan easily, you will just tan even faster in less time. However, if you have even slightly sun-sensitive skin, I wouldnt try it. I still tan just as much, but it take less time. I started out slow, like 8 or 10 minutes, then 12, now 15, working up from there, and ALWAYS moisturize! Thats just my personal experience, but I also tanned just fine on tetracycline and minocycline, both of which say avoid sunlight, but all they did was make me tan browner, faster. Just be careful! Also, I make sure I wear at least SPF 15 on my face b/c your face gets so much more sensitive. Hope this helps!

I live in Ft. Lauderdale where it is hot and sunny all the time. I won't tan while on Accutane and definetely have to apply sunblock on my face everyday. As far as tanning I'm scared of hyper pigmentation on my face not to mention wrinkles (then again I am much older than all of you rolleyes.gif

ATTENZIONE

this is important

DAY 6
facts :

75% less oil [BUT STILL some oil!]
no breakouts for few days
NO ANY KIND OF SIDE EFFECTS

is my dosage too low ? 20 mg for 60 kg.
is this normal, that skin is still a bit oily at this point ? any excessive dryness...at all...
should i up my dosage to 30mg a day ? probably i want to do that anyway, but i dont know when. maybe at day 8 ??
