I read somewhere in the Forum that drinking lemon can help reduce red spots. I've been on this regimen for like 1 month plus already and I think it's not getting better. I get more breakouts than before...I was getting a bit better at first but then it got worse. Feeling very down...Does moisturising help reduce breakouts because I don't really use the moisturiser. My skin is dry but not flaking anymore even without moisturiser.

It's normal that you get breakouts somewhere in the midst of being on the regimen. Give the regimen a little more time to see what happens in the future. At first, I wasn't sure if moisturizing was absolutely necessary and sometimes I didn't moisturize because I have pretty oily skin, but I've found that moisturizing made my skin smoother and softer than when I didn't moisturize... I don't know if it does anything for your breakouts, but I would definitely recommend moisturizing to improve your overall complexion. And yeah, there's a thread in the Scar Treatments forum about the lemon water fading red marks, check that out if you want... I've never done it so I can't help you there. Good luck.

Thanks....How do you deal with your red spots, AeroBunny? Do you just leave it to heal on its own? I just bought Neutrogena Moisture for Sensitive Skin...It seems to be better than the Neutrogena Moisture with SPF 15. It doen't leave a white layer on my face.

Hey, I haven't tried anything to get rid of my red marks just yet. However, lots of people here have been raving about the Neutrogena Multi-Vitamin Lotion that supposedly helps fade red marks, here's the link to the thread if you want to check that out...

About moisturizers, I'm currently using the Neutrogena Moisture SPF 15 since it hasn't run out yet and I want to get my money's worth! But once it runs out, I'm thinking about getting Eucerin Renewal Alpha Hydroxy Lotion, it's supposed to work wonders in preventing the BP from balling up and flaking.

Hi there. I used Dan's regimen with the b.p. and it made the little white heads turn into red marks but they were gone. But then I discovered my skin was too sensitive for even that light dose of b.p. (this was one summer ago), and after a stressful job of one week, my skin got worse with more cystic. I was a mess. Went to 2 different derms, even thought about birth control pills (glad I did not go that route, no need to change and they rarely help in my case) or even Accutane (even worse with side effects). I finally in desparation went to Bastyr Naturopathic Clinic in Seattle where I live by, and they very cheap and helped me the most. Had in late October the worst breakout I ever had due to the homeopathic pill the doctor gave me for my special type, and I wondered what had I done? Then one side started clearning and then the other. I now have an occasional pimple, but I put the all natural Niacinimide Cream on that spot and by next morning or in a day or so more, it is gone! No scarring or red marks, it is wonderful! Vitamin B, you know.
I also wash just with Avalon gentle herbal wash obtained at Trader Joe's, $6 a bottle, and use Clinique toner with NO alcohol. The red marks I had from the summer's breakout plus the mass one in October took months to fade! Just be gentle on your skin, that is the hardest thing to do, and put little on it topically. I also take the following supplements:

25,000 i.u. Vitamin A - try Herpanacine at h.f. store which is a blend specifically for skin by a skin doctor/naturopath, or do your own. I take a 2500 i.u. cod liver oil pill but get the rest of Vite A through beta carotene. Don't go over the 25,000-30,000 i.u. of A however.

TAPS - an herb liver support pill, but you can get similar at Trader Joe's. Has milk thistle in it.

A good multi-vitamin once a day, I use Carlson's but any good one will do.

Zinc with copper - this is great for the skin. I use Zinc Plex but look for similar, they are out there.

Hope that helps. Karen

Remember, one of the reasons that your skin is probably oily is because the skin needs to be moisturized. Look at it this way: oil clogs pores, makes you break out. A non-comegenic moisturizer does nto clog pores and with reguar use, your skin may not need to produce so much oil, thus causing less breakouts.

OK...Thanks....I think my breakouts are like slowing down I suppose...I get more of those granule-sized pimples these few days rather than a big one. My forehead is relatively clear without any active pimples since I started the regimen, just one or two occasionally. The only things left are those red marks. Actually, how do you know whether it is a red mark or a permanent scar? I've seen people with red marks and they've had it for years...Is that considered a scar already?...And I have this mark that is not really that red but it looks dark, or maybe black/brown...Is that a scar?
Thanks in advance
