i have heard that blotting sheets could in turn clog your pores again and make your acne worse, does anyone know?

Well, if you RUB your face with them, they have the potential to be an irritant AND spread bacteria. I don't know about "blocking pores" though ... 
Personally, I just use a bit of toilet paper or paper towel (depending on what's available) and blot my face with those, making sure to use a clean section of the sheet each time I touch my face.

All you do is press it on, I can't think of any logical way that it could possibly be detrimental to your skin. It only removes some of the oil on the surface.
