If your skin is anything like mine, they are just little pimples. Most people complain that their acne gets worse at the beginning of ProActiv then after a few days everything begins to clear up. Then most people claim after a year or so of usage, the person becomes immune and it no longer works. In my case, it only cleared it up about 50% of my acne and after about a year of usage, it's stopped altogether.

You're better off returning Proactiv and simply doing Dan's regimen. The only thing Proactiv has going for it is the fact that the product contains Benzoyl Peroxide...there's no magical cure or secret to the Proactiv regimen. The toner is not needed and actually made my acne worse. Its way overpriced to pay for all the infomercials.
You will save money and get better results using a mild cleanser, BP lotion, and a good moisturizer/sunscreen.

THE TRUTH!
make sure you pick the right cleanser, dans BP, and a good moisturizersunscreen.
if you pick one wrong moisturizer/sunscreen/cleanser, it'll throw everything off......as i recently learned.

plus it makes your face smell like ass. lol
not to say that it won't work for you. i do believe it works for some people, just wasn't the right combination for my skin. good luck to you though. i hope it works out.
but it does make your face smell like ass.

I 1st used proactive about 9 yrs ago and it didnt work too well.
I thought about trying it again, and then remembered why i didnt like it back then.
I started using it about 2 weeks ago and it has already made my skin worse. I have sensative skin, so it has made parts of my face VERY dry & flaky and given me small redish bumps. According to their pamphlet, this means that you are allergic to the Benzoyl Peroxide.
I think I need to stop using it and find something not as harsh.
If you have sensative skin and have found a wash/system that works, PLEASE let me know!
