I think ive posted something similar to this before, but no one really knew why/what was causing it. I have oily/dry skin.. when i wash, its dry dry dry.. but then at the end of the day its oily oily oily, lol.. So i use aloe vera gel to moisturize.. well, when i apply my aloe vera gel [i have the fruit of the earth 100% gel kind] it BURNS. like.. it STINGS. Whats causing this? Is it because my face is SO dry.. ?? Do i need to just keep applying it until the burning calms down [meaning my face was properly moisturized?].. i have it on now and its almost making me tear up. But i dont want to use anything else to moisturize because im DEATHLY afraid of it making me break out more.. i have super acne prone skin, and almost everything makes me break out. Im washing my face with a transparent facial bar and then i use duac at night. I also use a mud/clay mask once every two days or so.. if anyone has ANY idea why this is STINGING like this.. please share. ty in advance. smile.gif I <3 you acne.org members! wub.gif

Stop putting that on ur face if it hurts

maybe ur allergic to aloe who knows what it could be

using aloe vera gel everyday can dry ur skin out too so i would stop using it to tell u the truth. at this rate irritation and dryness can lead to breakouts anyway so ur best tryin ur luck with a good moisturizer of some sort.

If it burns, you certainly shouldn't use it. I know how you feel about not wanting to put moisturizer on your face; almost everything seems to break me out too. You can try drinking a lot of water and see if that gives you enough moisture. It works fine for alleviating mild dryness, but if your skin's extremely dry, you will need a more direct moisturizer.

Morning: wash with transparent facial bar
[i wear makeup.. almay "skin stays clean" foundation and physicians formula talc free mineral makeup]

afternoon: [when i get home from school]
wash face with transparent facial bar

night:
transparent facial bar
mud mask every two days
apply duac all over before bed

sometimes this varies.. sometimes i wash my face more than i should.. its a bad habit, and im working on it.. but is 3 times too much? I know i need to wash it when i get home though because i have an OILLLL problem and all my makeup looks bleh. it feels like the oil is clogging my pores like crazy.

the paradox is you have to stop washing your face for oil producton to go down.

the thing that made any oil for me go away is clinque TotalTurnaround.

Im not saying you should try it or anything.......just....puttin it out there.

wow thats -exactly-my situation right now aside from the fact that aloe vera doesnt burn when I put it on.. After washing all my oil is stripped off my face and its all dry then it slowly gets oily again. anyways how long does the burning last? just when you put it on all the time? and how many times have you used it.

maybe you should try a basis bar or something for very sensitive skin to wash your face. I know that my skin just gets really dry when i use regular washes. You may also be allergic to aloe vera, or maybe you have something with an irritant in it, look at what type of aloe you're using.

just-a-normal-kid, how much was the clinique totalturnaround? ive been thinking of buying a product of theirs because ive heard good things as far as skincare goes.. but i dont want to spend a lot of money then not have it work. on the other hand, im willing to try anything. smile.gif

also, is it possible to be allergic to aloe vera? i mean, i thought that you couldnt be allergic to something so.. idk.. natural/pure.. i have to 100% gel kind.. by fruit of the earth..has anyone else had any troubles with this product?
