Hi guys..guess what today i talked off my acne with my mom and guess wot i discovered ?

My mom has always had the same pattern of acne as me she told me..so the route cause of my acne is genetic..

but the sad thing is that shes 44 and she still has it..

:D...

i was counting on mine going away in a few years..im 21 now but .. now i wanna just ](*,)

we have a mild acne with one small zit in year on the cheeks otherwise almost clear and one or two ard the nose..plus bad acne on our chin..cystic during our peri0d and otherwise comodones and zits shit..

for both of us sad individuals chocolates, pickles, coffee, mangoes and lotsa other materials which trigger your hormones..hot..?weird..LOL..

anyways so maybe its totally hormonal..?..Im usin retin a and my face has cleared out but chin..hasnt..ive been on two months now but im not gonna quit..

i think life sucks majorly..for chin is very near your lips and when you kiss ?:)..awww.. :^o anyways..so i think i shud have no hope becoz all these medications control it not cure it..and accutane is not for my typa acne..its for severe cases but than if only i cud sep our my chin from my face..lol.. :-k

anyways..i ve hit depression..anybody has had the same experience ? :-s

I think you and your mom should go see a derm as soon as possible and see what they come up with. It could be that there is something you can do about it and not waste the next 22 years worrying about acne.

Ok guys and girls, I'm older than mom and still have acne! I've been to many derms and nothing helped but minocyclin, which they always took me off after a year. I am on my third week of Dan's regimen and I have only had one pimple and the cysts on my chin have gone down to almost nothing (but I know that it is just hiding). :) This is the clearest I have been in years.

I was in total shock when I found this site and realized that I was not the only one with low self esteem because of breakouts. What you do to get thru life is focus on other things. You remember that your mom may have acne but she is married and has a great kid and that will happen for you too, just as it happens to people without acne. After I get made up in the morning I rarely look in a mirror for the rest of the day ( ok, once in awhile) and I try to focus on life. Most everybody has a cross to bear, even beautiful people, but you have a better chance to be a good person because you can relate to those who are not perfect. Find a way to help others because that will always take your mind off yourself. And stay with the people here because from what I've seen these people are the best! They really do help each other. And if you haven't tried Dan's regimen give it a try. It has certainly been better to me than anything my derms have done! Best of Luck ( cause that's what I really think it is all about)

Maral, I could not have said it better! I am 35 & still have acne (well almost clear because of Dan). You voiced my sentiments exactly.

I'm 30 and still struggling...but it is getting MUCH better!

I would suggest trying a holistic practitioner if your derms haven't listened or responded to the hormonal issue that you know you have. I stumbled over one and she hit the nail on the head (for me anyway). She said I was estrogen dominant (yep, I'm a woman...I guess you can get too much of a good thing.) She gave me books to read and tapes to listen to.

Then I called my regular doctor, not a derm. I reviewed my list of symptoms beginning with the acne...and she also suggested I might be estrogen dominant. They both suggested the same progesterone cream to manage it as well as getting OFF the pill. So far, I feel tons better and my skin is liking it too!

I just tell you all of this so you may consider talking with someone else about your hormones. If you're a man, I doubt it's an estrogen problem! :D But, it could be something equally as easy to fix. And obviously the pill isn't always great for clearing the skin, since it made mine worse.

Good luck!
Ang

I have the similar genetics to overcome

eliminate all simple carbs and caffeine and you will eliminate the zits

is your Mom hypoglycemic?

your acne could be a result of an insulin resistance problem

i have had substantial success in controlling my acne through diet

well im not saying your acne ISNT hormonal. But just that, just cause your moms hasnt been outgrown, doesnt mean yours wont be. Your mom gives you some genes, you dad gives you some genes, and god throws in some more just for the hell of it. :D/ just be glad you didnt get your moms....ohh how should i say it......special no no spot gene.
