Ystheal Gel (15 mL) is a 0.05% retinaldehyde gel intended for oily skin and may be better-suited for acne-prone skins than Ystheal Creme. It may also be more potent due to the presence of alcohol, a penetration enhancer.
ingredients: Aqua, Paraffinum Liquidum, PEG-12, Alcohol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Carbomer, BHT, Methylparaben, Retinal (retinaldehyde), sorbic acid, tocopheryl acetate, triethanolamine.
Ystheal Gel is only available in Europe and can be purchased online at tubotica.com, beautycenter.co.uk, and beautytarget.com.
Avene has also released a new retinaldehyde line in the US called Retrinal. http://www.aveneusa.com/physicians/approach/retrinal.asp
Retrinal is available in three concentrations: 0.025%, 0.05%, and 0.1%. The ingredients are similar to Ystheal Creme but Retrinal is reportedly lighter in texture.
Diacneal lotion (30mL) is marketed for acne but it would also work as a photoaging treatment, as it contains 0.1% retinaldehyde and 6% glycolic acid and is the most potent retinaldehyde formulation available. It is fragranced.
ingredients: aqua, cetyl alcohol, cyclomethicone, polysorbate 60, glycolic acid, alcohol, sodium hydroxide, BHT, dimethiconol, fragrance, polymethyl methacrylate, potassium sorbate, RED 33 (CI 17200), retinaldehyde.
It can be purchased online at tubotica.com, getcanadiandrugs.com, feelbest.com, beautycenter.co.uk, pharma-shopping.de, beautytarget.com, and eBay.com.
Diacneal [as well as other Avene products] is also sold by some US dermatologists. You can call Avene USA at 1-866-41-AVENE to find out if a dermatologist near you carries it.

But thanks queen, I didn't know I could buy it in the US without paying 30 dollars to ship it from Spain.. If this works for me.. maybe I can afford it after all. That is if it ever gets here.

My derm has never heard of Diacneal or Green cream. In fact I bet I know more about acne at this stage than he does... Let's just say I'm not making another appointment.

I hope it arrives soon.
I bought mine on eBay, by the way ... it was shipped from Canada, but arrived fairly quickly.

It'll be another two weeks before my diacneal comes... sigh
You poor thing ... I am so mad at Tubotica! Did you have to send back the Ystheal? IMO, you should be able to keep it ... it was THEIR mistake, right?
If you can keep it, do ... and start using it ... it will prepare your skin for the Diacneal and might even help a bit at the same time.

I was hoping I could keep it, but no. They said I could keep the two tubes and pay for one, or ship both back and have my shipping returned. My diacneal should be shipped today..so another two weeks.
Ugh, I have to ship these things back to Spain.. I am keeping the free samples though (which only consisted of an assortment of high spf sun blocks and a band aid type thing which I cannot translate the package into english).

bump!
Any Diacneal users out there with any results to report?
I used it for awhile but decided that Retin A Micro was a better product for me, since my acne is pretty much gone and I really wanted the strongest anti-aging product I could find.
I liked the Diacneal, though ... it wasn't irritating at all.

Well, it takes awhile to work. So will Diacneal. These are not overnight products.
Go ahead and try Diacneal ... but you might as well finish up the GC ... you paid for it, after all.
What level of GC is it?

Just ordered this... mostly because I am under 30... and its costing me MUCH less from feelbest.com and I do not have to pay for customs.

Thank you LionQueen!
No problem, hope you like it!
Give your skin a few weeks to get used to it ..... if you are experiencing no irritation and you still feel like your pores need more help, then you might try the NuCelle mandelic serum in the AMs as well.
Just go slowly with all this strong stuff.

Definitely finish up the jar of GC, because Level 6 is strong enough to be actually doing something.
You will have to buy Diacneal online, it isn't sold in stores in the US. I got some on eBay awhile back. Some people buy from tubotica.com, but that's in Spain and shipping takes forever! Try to find a Canadian website that sells it, or just go for eBay (most of the Diacneal sellers on there are Canadian anyway).

I'm not buying from tubotica again despite their friendly customer service and fast replying.. they still haven't refunded my shipping money for when they sent the wrong product. Note to self: buy only from US and Canada

is it ok to use diacneal w/ mandelic acid? mandelic in the morning, diacneal at night...
Yup, you can do that. I would make sure to use an alcohol-free mandelic serum, though -- otherwise the combination may be too drying for your skin. Garden of Wisdom sells a good one (see link in my sig).
