I was just wondering what kind of soap is best to use. I use Ivory right now... I don't know if that's bad for your skin or what. A lot of people have told me to use dove including my derm. but it seems to irritate my skin. Any suggestions? Thanks a bunch

Both of those soaps can irritate and cause acne. It really annoys me that dermatologists do this. When I went to a dermatologist and asked which type of soap to use he said it didn't matter ](*,) when it certainly does matter.
Have you checked: http://www.acne.org/acne-products.html
?
If you live in the states those are good soaps to choose from.

I swear by Cetaphil liquid cleanser (well, actlually the Wal-mart band of it). I have (or had) oily skin. Even though the Cetaphil moisturized, it never made me extra oily or gave me pimples. In fact, it made my skin so smooth!

Hi Heather,
I originally used just plain normal soap, found it a little drying so I went and looked for something milder, I now use Dove Crerme<sp?) Bar, the stuff with 1/4 moisturiser in, can't say I have any complaints.

I looked at Dove's ingredients today and saw a comedogenic one in there - can't remember which one it was, but I had a list with me to check against.
I'm using Pears Soap at the moment - seems to be non-comedogenic, as it claims. Has a short list of ingredients too, which is good - stops you going blind trying to check them.
By the way sodium laureth sulfate and sodium lauryl sulfate - commonly found in shampoos, bubble baths, face washes - are both comedogenic.
