For a couple of years now, i've been doing this redface.gif --> putting a towel over my pillow every single night and always using a clean towel, okay maybe sometimes i use a towel every couple of days rolleyes.gif
It's like i'm so afraid of putting my face against anything... My boyfriend's always laughing at me for doing this, calls me silly cookie wub.gif lol.gif but i swear i feel that if i put my face on anything without protection "we know what" is inevitably going to happen. And i must add that for this past couple of years i've never slept with my face against a pillow eusa_snooty.gif and of course on anything else for that matter. But mad as i am i can never resist putting my face on my boyfriends shirt( smile.gif ) or... he's irresistible to me. wub.gif
So i was just wondering if this happens to anyone else, or i'm a freak for doing this eusa_think.gif

I've thought about using a towel because I hate to keep washing my pillow case. But even if I had a clean towel or clean pillow case I would still hate to put my face against it because I feel like if I'm smothering my face then it's not gonna get any better. I just force myself to sleep without my face touching anything at all. It's hard! lol.

It sounds to me like you have obsessive compulsive tendencies. I too have some minor form of OCD. I mostly just refuse to ever touch my face unless I am washing it. It also bothers me if anyone else tries to touch my face. As far as the pillow thing goes, I need my f'in sleep so I just bite the bullet and lay down. I just try to change the pillow case regularly. Oh yeah, and I never go to bed without taking a shower. Did I mention that I have diagnosed myself as having OCD? rolleyes.gif

I wouldn't worry about your ocd though. What does concern me is the fact that your "boyfriend" is known to wear a blouse. confused.gif

i actually did the towel thing... but i didnt like it. i just bought some new sheets and pillow covers though, since the other was when i wore acne creams and put gel in my hair and not washing the gel out (no creams and i make sure my hair is washed out from any hair product)... i dont think washing the pillow case will do any good, since i did this for years unaware it doing harm.

There is nothing that wierd with sleeping in a towel. I do the same thinng when I spend the night at a friends house and I don't want to use their pillow case becasue I'm afraid it will make me break out worse. Its a good habit to get into if it clears up your acne.

Ever thought of just buying extra pillowcases, and changing them nightly? smile.gif

thats what i do! smile.gif i do laundry like a fiend!

i find tho that when i have a shower and put on my benzamycin gel (topical bp + antibiotic) i can go a couple of days maybe 2 or so before changing pillowcases but if i go to bed without having a shower or washing my face i change them the next day. Mostly because i use product in my hair and i worry about it getting on the pillowcase and then getting on my skin the following night.

i don't think you're weird for the towell thing smile.gif most people have little things they do

I change my pillow case every night too. And usaully bring a clean one over if I sleep over at a friends house. Cept for last night I didn't and my hair was a bit greasy with product, and she uses that pillow..prolly same thing, lol. I may be paranoid about it, but I woke up with a new zit on my cheek, where my head was lieing againest..

Come on guys, do you honestly think laying on a pillow is going to cause acne? Why don't we just chain ourselves up to the ceiling at night..

you're a genius! eusa_clap.gif i've just remembered how it all began. me derm prescribed me this night cream which was awful i telll you it was skin colored and it stayed greasy on your face, not entering your skin or such so i had to protect the pillowcase shock.gif and from then on i did that every night, sleeping with a towel on my pillow even though i seized to use the cream. eusa_think.gif

wow, i do the same thing. except i buy these special pillow "towels", they're thicker and larger. i don't think it's a compulsive disorder. i hope not.

here's a little trick i was told. if you put silk on your pillow and sleep on it, it won't mess up your hair and you won't get wrinkles.
