did anyone ever find out if the sea salt corrodes bathtubs?

I know this sounds stupid but how do you soak your face? Do you just submerge you face under water for short periods of time?

Congrats on the clearing skin. I'm really looking foward to trying this and hoping that it works

I'm pretty sure that Sea Salt won't corrode the bathtub. I was worred it might corrode the metal int he bath tub like in the sauna section.

I should ask either at Home Depo or on a forum. Think I will. I'll let yu know.

day 3, i dont want to jump into conclusions or give false hope to people, so i wont post results till im 100% sure there are any results at all, good or bad.

its not that expensive if you get it at the right place, so it depends on your area i guess

Well I found some today. Only three bucks in Canada. But it isn't that big of a container. Anyway, I think this was asked earlier in the thread, but I didn't see the answer. You put it in while the water is running right?

Yes, put it in while it is running.....as long as the water is hot it does not really matter, but I am sure it helps the dissolving process.

I'm a bit of afraid since I've read that due to osmosis your skin becomes more hydrated when bathing in salty water. Whenever I use a mosturizing cream (=hydrating) I get more acne. Although I have to admit that the ocean has got good influence on my body acne. Also the sun has very good effects in combination with sunscreen (so your body doesn't need to make your skin oilier as a reaction to the drying effect of the sun on your skin).

How does it work on chest acne? (because it is a bit different than back acne)

I wonder if the salt buildup will hurt the septic system? I have a fish aquarium that I sometimes put salt in and it has a lot of salt deposits on it. I was thinking that all that salt might buildup on the metal parts of the motor thing in the septic system. I know it would be expensive to replace. Does any one know if this might cause a problem later on down the road?

From what I gather, I think swimming in the beach is probably the best thing you could do. You are so lucky to live so close to a beach. I would go every chance I could if I were you. I just love swimming and the sun. I guess you can tell that I can't wait until summer.

Yep, the actual sea is the best thing you can get.

Nizoral is an anti-dandruff shampoo.

Yea i would go every weekend (like i did last summer and surf...) but now with this curse (body acne) its kinda hard 2...

Only thing i could think 2 do is drive down there by my self and go swim/tan for like 2 hours... like go 2 a unpoppulated part of the beach lol. I know that sounds pathetic rolleyes.gif but im sure some 1 can relate.

i feel kinda bad for u guys who say they love swimming at the beach because i could see it from my house eusa_whistle.gif , only time i went was every other day last summer when we were body boarding and we all had those wet suit type shirts so it covered my body acne. plus we have some of the best beaches too in san diego, im like 5 min away on the freeway. but back to the topic...

as for messing up ur plumming, etc, look up "hard water" and "soft water." the sea salt im using happens to be for "water softening" for houses. unlike most of my friends, we have a water softener tank in our garage that u fill up with salt that softens the water, we dont use it anymore i believe cuz we used to fill it up with salt at least once a year, not anymore. so yeah, u could use the water softening salts like at a home depot or lowes(i never went there but they should have it) as long as it says 100% evaporated sea salt on it u should be okay. what i looked up since the salt was for the softening process is that it is better for ur pipes. but yeah, look this up.

Hi all. I have been doing this for about three weeks now and there is a definite improvement. I am not entirely sure if it is completely associated with using the bath salt, however it has certainly gotten better.

I bathe at night for about 30 minutes in not ungodly hot water, because frankly I like to do the bath because it is relaxing. That said, I use between 12 and 15 oz. of sea salt.

As reported earlier. The results are a process. My skin hasn't broken out as much since I started, and the existing breakouts got better.

Following my sea salt bath I take a brief shower using the neotrogena stuff mentioned earlier with SA. One thing I am mindful to do is exfoliate with a poof thing or whatever. I also let the SA sit on my skin for at lease a minute or so before rinsing off. Give it a try. Worst thing that can happen is you get to relax for 30 minutes. I watch TV while I soak.

Also, I make sure to wash my bed sheets weekly.

So would this not work with any salt other than sea salt? I'm having trouble finding large quantities of sea salt online at a reasonable price (in the UK.) A google search led me to this page, which seems to be exactly what I'm looking for, but I thought it was a bit weird that it's on a bird food website. Can anyone tell me if this would be suitable?

If someone could let me know whether or not the sea salt on this page is ok to use, I'd really appreciate it. I want to start using the stuff as soon as possible!

so i broke out eusa_wall.gif . about 5 pimples on my back and 1 big ol underground cyst on my chest which hurts like a mofo. i guess, it matches the other 3 scars i got there. maybe its the cheap sea salt im using, i dont know. its like day 10 or around there havent really kept track, still 30 oz. for 25-30min everyday. texture has improved, but scars are still there. but hey im still gonna keep at it because its still early. i wash with nizoral about 3 times a week too, other than that i use the dial antibacterial body wash(spring water smells so good)... and i got kinda upset so i covered my chest and back full of s.a. last night. i also bodybuild and i have turned it up a notch on my training so it might be that too. but like i said, its still early and/or it might be my cheap sea salt that i bought. eusa_think.gif

btw, sebastian and ratherbesurfing, other than sea salt and nizoral, do u guys use anything else? afterwards? like bp or a lotion?
