Thats probably exactly what it is, you have a lot of clogged pores. For example me, I have all these white bumps on my chin that have "plugs" in them . Like they aren't noticeable except if I stretch out my skin, like smile big or something. And I am 55 days in to treatment and now they are all developing into pimples but that means (i hope) that the pores are unclogging. I just have to make sure I am nice to my skin and that it doesn't scar, i.e. I need to avoid picking. But hopefully in a couple months they'll all be cleared out and I will have flawless skin. Same for you.

I go to the derm every month. My copay is 15 dollars so accutane costs me about 90 dollars a month for all the meds and appts. It sort of sucks, but I think what I am getting out of it and that counter acts the money. Have a good day.

Yeah...
I think this is what happens to me..
All my clogged pores are actually come out as pimples..
Gosh .. no wonder there are tons of them.
But the good thing is, after that hopefully there will be no more pimpless.. yay...

Yeah Andrea .... hope we will have clear skin.. smile.gif

Hi trenem..
Yeah... I guess our expenses gone high because of this Roaccutane plus plus (Sometimes I also need to go to derm for injection for my cyst and it costs me around 66 dollars).
Well.. I try to cut cost on my food smile.gif.

Now I make my lunch..
Bring sandwich and salad to office everyday..
Well, it seems this Roaccutane and stuff has made me healthier smile.gif.

Day 41
My update for today:
My eyes is ok, not too dry, I use my eyedrops regularly everymorning smile.gif.
My face, still no improvement.
I have around 4-5 active pimples on my forehead.. (not very big).
My right cheek, still no improvement, there are more than 7 volcanoes there..
I am considering going for injection.. but I will wait until I get my salary next month.
Each time I go for injection, I will need to pay another extra 66 dolar.. and sometimes, it create another bumps around.. so I am thinking hard whether I should go or just leave it.
My left cheek, the big pimples has turn to those with white puss inside.
There are total of 5 cysts there.. and a few small ones (too lazy to count them smile.gif).
Chin, no new pimples,,, but the old ones still there..
My lips are dry like usual.
I am going to pass through my 6 weeks this Friday.. hehe.. hopefully all my pimples will gone down soon as they are a bit painful esp those on my cheek...

Have a nice day everyone..

Hi there-
Hope that you start seeing results soon so you don't have to make the injection decision. If it were me I would probably just wait and let the drug take its course. But if you have a hard time dealing with your skin and the injections make you feel better, then do what is best for you! Congrats on six weeks, that is hopefully six weeks closer to clear skin!

Hi trenem..
THanks..
I think I'll go to my derm for injection today..
Hopefully it will make me feels better and make the cysts smaller as it has been there for quite sometimes...

Day 42
Skin is getting drier.
Cheek and chin Still looks worse than before Roaccutane.
Forehead looks better than before.

Some part of my face actually experience dryness more than others.
My chin is one of the part which is very dry. My cheek is the second one.
My face is very flaky.

Yesterday I have become a very bad girl.. I actually pop up 3 of my big pimples..
Two on the side of my eyes and one covered by hair..
They are now drying out smile.gif.
Somehow it's faster to pop it out rather than waiting for the Roaccutane to make it dry.

My forehead looks better with only a few pimples left.
My cheek still looks horrible and bumpy and dry..
Some of my pimples are very near to each other makes it looks worse and they are red.. eusa_shifty.gif .
Honestly I never had this kind of pimples before.

I just think that if I can past through this kind of experience and comes alive I can survive anything else.
What does not kill you will make you stronger..
That's what people said..
So this few months I will just be a THICK SKIN... smile.gif..

Wish all Roaccutane survivor out there a nice day...

Hi firegurl
Yay... definitely got to stop picking soon..... !!

Day 42 ( I think I count wrongly last time). After recounting.. today is actually my 42 days on Roaccutane.. which makes it exactly 6 weeks timeline..
Just went to my derm yesterday.. Supposed to be for injection.. but doctor said no more injection for me.
He said that my initial breakout is quite severe.
I also think so,, because it actually turn my moderate pimples into severe ones.
Gosh..
In the end he prescribe me Erythromycin for the next 3 weeks.. I will take it 3 times a day..
Hopefully this antiobiotics will help me to make it subside and not so painful anymore.
I will still continue my Roaccutane.

I am thinking whether I should switch to the Roche.. instead of using the generic one Nimegen.
The original one sure will cost me more.. but if it's better I think I don't really mind.

My current situation :
Quite bad... still looks much2x worse than before Roaccutane.
My right cheek looks horrible.. I still have a few cysts there very near to each other.. and red, some are drying out..
My left cheek.. there are a few big pimples.. most of them are drying out.. there are a few medium size with white puss inside, I don't dare to take it out.. I will wait for a few more days.

My chin.. a few small ones, those with white things inside.
Forehead, around 3 pimples, 1 with white puss.
Nose : clear.. smile.gif.
Eyes not very dry.
Chapped lips as usual.

Overall skin still very bumpy and painful.

Just talk through MSN with one of my friends that take Roaccutane before.
I only have 2 friends that I know took Roaccutane..
He said I will need to wait for another 6 weeks.. for it to get better. He actually become better in his third months..
Well, hopefully my case is < 3 months..
Keep my finger crossed.
Have a nice day everyone

Hey C, Sorry that you are breaking out so bad. Hopefully the erythromycin helps. My skin isn't wose than before but it hasn't improved that much yet either. I guess like you said, just gotta be tough. I say that all the time "what doesn't kill u makes u stronger". Try not to worry too much yet and try not to pick. Although I am very guilty of picking the pus ones.
Hope things get better for you. Keep your positive attitude and everything will work out.
Andy

Hi Andrea
Thanks... yeah.. my IB is very bad and horrible..
I used to cry a lot because of it.. but it seems it doesn't make it cure or better, so I stop being negative and start to see the life in different way..
Well, I start to look at the bright side of life..

Yeah really hope this Erythromycin is going to reduce it... eusa_pray.gif
Pray hard to God..

Hi trenem
Thanks a lot for reading my log and for all the encouragement smile.gif.
That helps.. hehe I guess you use to encourage all those unfortunate kids (your student I mean).

Well.. I am working at my office.. My face is very tight and lips chapped.

I have to do my price list today as tommorow is end month so I'll be busy sending out the price list to all the channel partners..
I am so glad that my job keeps me busy the whole day.. or I'll be mad thinking about my face all day smile.gif.
I really like my job actually.
I have great colleagues..
Of course tons of them asking me what happens to my face since it changed overnight.. but it's ok..
Heheh I am so used to it..

BUT of course I wish all this pimples and painful cysts will go down asapppp....

Hi Corrine

Thanks for your message. I've been reading your log. Sounds like you've been going through a rough ride. Don't worry at day 42 i was still much worse than before accutane. It was about week 8 things started picking up, by week 12 alot better. Am now on week 16 - am not clear but sooo much better. Have had about 2-3 spots this week rather than 2-3 per day!!! So hang on in there!!!

I was also put on erythromycin - i think it did help abit (though i wouldn't have like to see hwow bad i would be then without it)

I really hope things go well. It can be tough and and i still have up and down days - cos you expect alot. But as you say crying won't cure it. Stay as up beat as poss.

take care and i'll be reading

kaz

Some of the big pimples in my left cheek is coming out when I wash my face..
Gosh.. Hope it will turns dry tommorow..
Currently most of the pimples on my left cheek is drying out..
I have 1..2...3..4.......8 drying scabs there..
At least they are not so painful anymore..
But looks ugly.. hehehe..
My right cheek no improvement..
Eyes ok..
Lips.. dry as usual.

I have one new big pimples near my mouth and the other one at my right cheek.

My derm said that I got skin infection and ask me to go to skin center as soon as possible.
But since the skin center only open on normal working days..
so he give me one day MC next monday..

He actually write a reference letter to one of the doctor in that skin center..
Drawing my face.. with a few circles on the left cheek and right cheek..
Then he write there.. nodular pimples, pustules..
Taking Nimegen.. past 6 weeks acne increases..
Hehehe..

You poor thing, comfort.gif you just are having the worst luck aren't you? Well at least your derm realized something isn't right. Maybe now they can do something for you and you can start seeing some of those results that you deserve to see. What is nimegen anyway? Is it the brand of accutane you are on? Maybe they should try a different one.
I really really hope that things get better and they figure out why you've been having such a hard time and then they can put you on the fast track to recovery.
Plus I'll send some of my "superpowers" your way, that always helps. box.gif
Good luck corrine! amused.gif

Hi Andrea
Thanks for the superpowers.. hahahah
That really helps.. smile.gif

Hi kkk..
Thanks for visiting my log smile.gif
Too bad I don't have digital cam... so Can't really post picture right now..
May be in another 4 months (when I am suspected to be cleared) I'll buy one for sure smile.gif .
Yeah My face is also still much2x worse (around 10 times worse) than before taking Roaccutane.
I'll just hang on there.. you too kkk.. all the best..

Well.. I guess I have replied all your message...

My update:

I just come back from the skin center.. called Dermatologist Associates..

I visit a new derm recommended by my current doctor..
Gosh her face is so damn smooth.. not a single dot there.. I doubt she is using any make up.

Now I switched to the original roaccutane by Roche.. the doctor said that this one is actually better compared to the generic once that I use. My dosage is increased to 30 mg/day..
I spent $357. Gosh..
My doctor said my face is quite bad.. because it is quite red and inflamed..
Good things is it's all because of Roaccutane.. so I guess.. the red pimples that comes out actually unclogged some of my bad pores..

She give me Clyndaminc for morning and Differin gel for night to reduce the pimples.
Also give me Prednisolone to be taken 4 tabs per day..

I looks so depressed when I met her.. She actually gives me another 4 days MC(medical leave) till the end of the week.
But I don't think I will take it.. as I have taken so many MC due to this embarassing skin problems..
And because I am on contract.. I am only eligible for 1 day MC per month..

Hopefully.. I'll be better when I see her in another one month time..
My current situation..
Skin still quite bad.
My left is worse, cos I picked out a few pimples,, 3 drying out.. 3 getting worse.. ( so regretttt)
My right still looks quite bad as well.. a few new pimples coming. Some are quite big..

Things to do this week:
1.I promise I will not pick out any pimples and dry skin anymore..
I promise I promise...
I don't want to be left with those ugly scars later on.. smile.gif.
2.I will not be stress out by my face anymore..
Even tough I am the ugliest person on earth I don't care... as I will be cured in 6 months or so so..
My stress actually caused more pimpless.. and the pimples cause more stress and the stress develop more pimpless.. gosh.. such a never ending cycle.. So the first thing I have to do.. be more positive and optimist...

Guys.. sorry if sometimes I sounds very negative.. I guess you know how it feels to have those ugly stuff on your skin.. hehehe. smile.gif..
So.. may the force be with all of us Accutane survivor..
Have a nice day everyone..
