Apparently, applying BP all over the face has helped many on this board clear their acne, including myself. Could you send us the link of the studies that suggest otherwise?

People with severe acne should probably consider accutane treatment.

I had an annoying acne case, but not as severe as some. I was on tetracycline for years. Finally I convinced the doc to give me accutane. That cleared me up for several years. But now my oil production has recovered and I have minor to mild acne.

I just started BP treatment a week ago and so far it has prevented new outbreaks. We'll see over the long run.

You have to remember everyone is different. But for the most part BP has been the money maker for me over SA and other things. I mean no one wants to use BP for the rest of their life, but in a acne state, I would use it over and over.

. :^o

Is that why the Proactiv skin care system contains a bottle of 5% BP lotion?

I just have to say that if a Pro-Activ infomercial spoke negatively about BP, it's pretty ironic. Not to say that you're incorrect, because BP does cause redness/peeling, but in 2 out of the 3 main proactiv bottles, BP is the key active ingredient. I know this because I use it for its BP content instead of going out and buying On The Spot evey week. (lazy :))

In any event, I have seen decent results from using the Proactive BP solution(s) and I'd be curious to hear what people like better, the OnTheSpot treatment or Proactive- Same 2.5% BP so they might even be interchangeable.

Maybe if you use bp 10% it will make your acne worse but 2.5% seems to help...

This may be true if you use too high a concentration and/or use it too often causing IRRITATION which would cause your acne to get worse.

Been there, done that.

i'm asian, and my skin is light brown, u r right man, it makes the scars and skin horribly worst THE FIRST FEW WEEKS
then it dies down. and now the acne that i have are not even acne at all they r just little bumps, i can just scratch it off.

i used to have like big painful pimples, but because of the regime i dont get these anymore.

trust me, it only makes skin worst the first few weeks, then when your skin adapts to it, its all good.

maybe u don't use enough moistuizer

I am Asian too and I have olive skin. I've been on the Regimen for about 5 months now, and I have gone through the really-really dry-skin phase. I think that phase is the worst because your face gets really dry and flaky but if you stop using BP then you will get pimples! Well anyway, I get pimples mainly on my cheeks, forehead and chin. Since I'm on the Regimen, I don't get pimples on my forehead and chin anymore. The ones on my cheeks are pretty stubborn though and they are massive too! Well it feels like they are sometimes...
Anyway, if you have dark skin and wants to get rid of the scars, check out the Neutrogena Multi Vitamin Acne Treatment because it works for me.. it gets rid of the scars faster than normal healing process. There is also a thread about this product, I believe.
