I have some spots still and my skin is not too dark or light (asian-indian). But I've had some spots that won't go away. I get a peel at the DR. every 2 months & my skin looks great for a couple of weeks but then it looks average again. Anyone have any ideas that aren't an expensive trip to the doctor.

I also haven't used any daily AHAs or anything. I just use a regular, "acne-friendly" moisturizer/sunscreen. I was reallly interested in the Alpha Hydrox "Oil Free Formula" Will this break me out initially?

They're called "macules" and can take months to fade. I also know of no faster way, just patience. What's important is that you prevent future acne to prevent future spots.

Yes, it probably doesn't help that I live in Arizona where it's 100 degrees or more 5-6 months of the year and too sunny anyways except for about 1 month out of the year. Just being out for 10 minutes in the sun here is bad.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm Asian too and have a sort of light tan complexion. My face is clear of acne, I never really had much to begin with anyway, just an uneven complexion because of those darn dark spots which make it look like acne. I haven't found anything that helps them fade faster, though.

hm. anyone tried the neutrogena multi-vitamin acne treatment yet?
i'm gonna try that and see if it can clear up my minor pimples and lots of marks that i've had for many years already.

Have you tried the tape method? After washing your face, put a piece of scotch tape over the area then peel it off from bottom to top. From my understanding, it works kind of like the peels or dermabrasion you get at the doctor, but it's gentler and more gradual. You shouldn't keep going over the same area as you will get irritated red patches. Just do it once a day. I think this has helped some of my darker spots fade faster, and it's deffinitely good for removing flaky skin. It shouldn't irritate your skin. There are lots of threads on the tape method, especially in the scar treatments board.
