QUOTE(Robynxo @ Feb 23 2006, 01:42 PM)

a couple of weeks before my period I get a few pimples, and my skin tends to be oilier. During my period, my skin is still oily, but my spots get better, and a week after my period my skin is at its best.

my skin is exactly the same. Are you on BC or have you found something that helps this? I'm on otrho tri cyclen and it does help, but not completely.

Yeah, my skin is always worst in the week before my period, and starts to clear up almost as soon as my period starts.

Same here

I'm on Yasmin...the week before my period I get a pimple or two...sometimes it pops up in strange place, like the center of my forehead...or on my butt...always some stupid place. If it's on my face, I just hope that it's on the side.....not so noticable. Once my period comes along....the pimple seems to melt away. eusa_eh.gif

Immediately after period -- skin is very dry and peely
Over the next couple of weeks, skin gets clearer and oilier (to normal oiliness)
Midcycle -- a few breakouts, if I attack them with extra spot treatment and the queen helene masque at night they go away in a few days
About a week and a half of clear skin again, but slightly oily
Right before to the first day or two of period -- lots of breakouts

Everything about my skin is hormonal, ugh. The few days of breakouts wouldn't bother me, except for all of them are big ones on my cheeks and leave a fresh set of marks for me to attempt to deal with over the month.

It happens to me on the second week after the period, in the middle of the 28 days, like when i'm ovulating. Hmmm... I don't get it, ppl always say that women look their best when they're ovulating, nature's way to make them attractive to males biggrin.gif biggrin.gif like full breast and feromon smell eusa_eh.gif but no... for me it's the opposite. eusa_wall.gif lol

The cycle changes for me too. It used to be that if I broke out, it would be during my period, then it changed to a week after my period, and now it's a week before my period. Coincidentally, I have my period right now and I only have a few zits (from the week before my period) that are already clearing up.

My breasts are fullest right before my period. Water retention is my favorite part of PMS. smile.gif And I get the ovulation breakouts too.

my skin is the worst about a week before my period, and slowly begins to clear when my period actually comes. then i have a week of smooth skin with no new breakouts (although there's almost always spots that are still healing, and always dark marks), after which my skin gets consistently worse until my next period.

i know im not a girl. but during your period i read your iron gets low. for some lower then others. Iron has alot to do with skin. with that said maybe you should try and and get more iron rich foods around your period. thats like beans and broccoli, nuts, potatoes, oatmill with raisins, red meats, and get some vitamin C foods with it to assimilate the iron

I don't think your iron actually gets low during your period. You're not actually using the blood that you lose during your period, it's just accumulating in your uterus as part of the endometrial lining. You lose iron sort of continually, as the lining builds up. Women do have to worry about iron more than men because they lose blood, but I've been told it's not just during your period -- it's not the same effect as if you lost the same amount of blood by, say, getting a cut and losing it all at once.

ditto.

in the week before my period, i literally wake up overnight to horrible skin: large pores, dull complexion, and patches of these tiny sebum plugs. argh. i only noticed this recently as i didn't even think about the link to the mentrual cycle. but at the same time i'm not really sure cuz the results could be confounded by other things, like poor sleeping and stress. argh, i juz don't know. sad.gif i totally wish our skin could tell us what exactly went wrong!!! i hate the guess work!!!!

i heard that hormone affected acne occurs on the chin. but i like never get pimples there. i just had a small one this week on my chin, haha, first one in like a yr. does that mean my fluctuating skin condition is still associated with the menstrual cycle/hormones?

oh well the dr. prescribed my friend iron pills because of it. I also read the girls get a big sugar crave because the iron being so low and someone goes and eat high sugary treat, thus not good for acne... and i do think it gets low i cant say why but if you google it there are all kinds of links
