About a week ago I bought a $150 Norelco electric shaver assuming it would help my acne...Instead, it has aggravated it and I even had my first cyst develop on my face for the first time in my life this past week! Can anyone please give me some advice as far as the proper way to shave when affected by mild/moderate acne?
Thanks!

I think the best way to shave is a single blade razor...even those cheap plastic ones..this might sound stupid but the tripple blade ones feel smother when you shave but they actually pull the hair out and that leaves you with tons of open pores

na bro.. the best thing to use is.. disposible razors.. double blade... or the sensor excel.. i jus bought the sensor excel and used it once.. it seems pretty good.. i used to use Bic razors.. they were green(not the womens one).. it comes in packages of 10 or 5..
sum tips... soften ur facial hair by wetting wit with warm water.. the best if ur in the shower.. den after u soften ur hair.. use NOXEMA SKIN CREAM as a shaving cream(not the noxema shaving cream).. the one that comes in a blue jar.. i used to use shaving cream but i had a few razor bumps after i had shaved.. after u put the noxema on the place u need to shave wait a few mins to soften ur skin alil more.. u can do other things in the meantime like brush ur teeth.. den start shaving.. but shave in the SAME DIRECTION OF YOUR HAIR GROWTH.. anotherwords.. if your hair growns downward, then sahve downward.. never shave upward.. then rinse and pat dry.. if u got ne otha questions let me kno..

Sensor Excel hands down.
Add in the regimen, and you shouldn't have a problem at all in a month or two.

I use an errr dam forgot it's name, wilkinson sword with a spiffy name, double blade, found the best way to not agrivate is to use a hell load of shaing foam (I use nivea sensetive skin) whack it on about 0.5cm thick, shave with the grain, re lube if then going against the grain. Also you MUST make sure you make the hair VERY wet, splash your face for about 5minutes before hand, this makes the hair alot easier to cut. Good luck!

use edge pro gel for sensitive skin. it has aloe vera gel and vitamin e. any of the new schick or gillette razors are great to use...they all have flexible blades, which is great, and make sure u change the blade often. ive used different gillette and schick razors, and the schick worked best for me. i think it was the schick FX. :::: splash warm water on ur face for a while, let it drip dry for about fifteen seconds, dry ur hands, then rub around a nickel-sized amount of the gel. shave down, then up. (shave down the cheek one stroke, shave up, dip in the warm water, next area) be very slow and careful, especially around active acne. when done, splash ur face several times with cold water. then take ur shower, brush ur teeth, and do ur regular face regimen. u might want to try neutrogenas new products designed for men and shaving

I have to ask which Norelco you purchased. If it isn't the Advantage, then I feel that you wasted your money. I would not trade my Norelco Advantage for any other shaving method. This is the wet shave electric that dispenses the "goo". Dry electrics used to irritate my neck. Once I switched to the Advantage, I never experienced neck irritation again. The shave I get is as good as a blade, without nicks or irritation.
If this is your first rotary electric, then I also have to ask if you have given your face enough time to adapt to the shaving method. You need about a month to get used to it. Do you follow the provided instructions on how to shave with your electric? I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with what I think is a truly superior shaving method.
Hey, has anyone seen or tried the new Gillette Sensor 3? Yes, that's right, it's a traditional Gillette Sensor with 3 blades. Pretty cool....
